Looking forward to the '65 Ford kit. It looks to have had at least some of the extra parts added back in, and it has all new decals. I wonder which Mod Stock kit is up next? I'm hoping for the Buick or Olds, but the '64 Ford would be nice too.

$32.00 seems a bit much for a '41 Plymouth with 4 bottle crates and some Coke decals. I'll pass.

1/25 AMT 1927 Ford T Vintage Police Car

I have the White Box, Molded in light blue, version of the '27 Touring. I just checked the chrome tree. It has the Front Mag Rims and the dropped front axle on the chrome tree.. It might be worth checking out. -
So this is definition of PRO BUILT?

Slightly OT. Years ago my folks were members of the Horseless Carriage Club. I remember that we had one guy who joined who did not know a wrench from a screwdriver. He was an accountant, and had the mechanical instincts of a Goldfish. He joined the club, and within 3 months bought a nicely restored '26 Ford Model T Roadster Pickup, from a member of the Club. "Bob" was an enthusiastic member of the Club. He and his T, made every event we held. He would take his T over to the original owners house for maintenance, and repairs. He even learned some small repair skills with his car. When I left, "Bob" was running for president of the Club. "Bob" could never have restored that T. Heck, he could not even drive it, when he bought it. Nonetheless, he was crazy about Old Cars, and he knew enough to know that he could only do so much. It never stopped him, from having fun. It is easily possible that for some people, Building a Model is just not going to happen. That does not stop them from appreciating Models, though. So, They buy what they cannot build. As long, as they don't try to pass off the builds as their own work, I'm happy to have them in my hobby! -

Well, I like the PD/MM kit a bunch so,I'd be happy to see it return too. If the Top is still in the tooling, that is all that you have to have to build a stocker, as long as you could get parts from the K series Pickups. -

So, I wonder where the Blazer/Jimmy tooling is today. Revell or Atlantis? Either way, I'd be really happy to have it come back. -
50,000 + kits from just one mold ?

I cannot argue with your experiences, Noel. You have the right of it. Hobby shops are about a lot more than just selling kits and parts. But, That truth CANNOT EVER be explained to any body who has a Masters degree in Business. -

Well, it happens to me most Often at Hobby Lobby. I try to get an idea of what the builder wants. I've steered kids to snap kits, and away from some of the more labour intensive kits. I've suggested ones I know are easier to build, and away from some kits that are more of a bear to build. Yeah the old AMT '40 Sedan is a pretty easy kit to get good results from, but some newer kits aren't. It's just a bit of conversation really. I just try to provide some background info, on the choices that are there on the shelf. -
Tony, they DID put quite a bit of effort in the '66 Chevy and the '65 Ford decals. There are some nice new numbers and some different sponsor names on the sheets. Are they what I would have done? Probably not. Are they an improvement over the same generic decals that have been in every version of this kit since the 1970's? Oh, Heck Yes! I'm pleased with them and will be buying kits to show Round2 support for these. If you are really disappointed by the decals, Gofur Racing offers some great decals that would work for these kits. I have some of them too.

Or, New Decals, New Tires, and other extras. And, Noel, while it is not new to us, the "New" label on the box is not meant for us, the "lunatic fringe". We know how old these kits are. The primary market, does not. So, give advice to the novice looking at new kits with you at the store. Try to gently steer them away from the older dogs, and towards a better build experience. I've done it a few times. I'll never know if it helped, but the store made the same money, and a novice model builder did not get a 50 year old kit that might have caused real problems. It is all we can do sometimes. -
Try 'em. You'll Like 'em! He sells great stuff.

Man, I wish somebody, would restore the Blazer/Jimmy tooling. I've been chasing that Sheriff Blazer now for a year or so, and keep missing out. I'm about ready to just buy the next Blazer/Jimmy I find and convert my own Po-Leece Car... -
I'm building mine as a stock, County Fire Truck, Brush Rig. I've sourced 6-lug stock rims/ tires from Scenes Unlimited, and will just build it without the lift pieces. Other than the Rims and a Hose Reel in the bed, it is pretty much and OTB Build.

The Raising Blocks are Separate. In step 6, parts 14 & 19 are shown x2, In step 7, parts 15 are used four times for the lift.

Snake, that sounds like a great Plan. The best use of those kits, and it "Should" give the satisfaction of some quick, simple builds. (note, I did not say "Easy Builds". Unless you forgo all the sanding smooth work. Then they might get closer to "Easy Builds") Have Fun. -

Is the Lindberg ALF 900 Pumper any relation to the Aurora Kit? I know that they are both 1/32 scale. -

I've got 5 Atlantis kits already. But, Nothing they have now appeals to me. I'll buy more from them. (I've got 2 of the AH-56 Helicopters on order)Just not this Quarter. (or the next 2 after that unless something I want is announced.)
