  1. More on the Eight Wheels Touring Car. A Reeves "Octo-Auto" https://silodrome.com/reeves-octoauto-sextoauto/ https://forums.aaca.org/topic/334241-do-any-survive-1911-reeves-octoauto/ https://american-automobiles.com/Reeves-Sexto-Octo.html and The Clancey 6 wheeler https://bangshift.com/bangshiftapex/racingjunk-find-buy-perfect-recreation-six-wheeled-pat-clancey-special-indy-car/
  2. Well Done! I like the Blue Colour.
  3. A 'homerun' of a build! Just awesome on that car. You've made that Johan kit, a masterpiece.
  4. You are correct Mike. Those Wheels went on some hot rods too.
  5. Thanks, Ray.
  6. The Ice Princess. https://steampunktendencies.com/the-amazing-xf58-ice-princess-custom-1950-studebaker-and-1960-cadillac-mix/ Can we get this one tooled up, ASAP, please? I'd take one in Resin too.
  7. You and me both, Carl! As bad as the nose fit is, I still want to build it that way.
  8. Ray, any pics of the Tires, and Decals? Did the kit come with two engines? Thanks. Alan
  9. Thanks, Paul! I'll be waiting with "Worm on Tongue" (Baited Breath)
  10. Thanks for the Update, Casey! Good to know about the Tires and the info about the Luv. I had not considered any of the Hobbico connection. That sounds very plausible..... Even more reason to get this kit and enjoy it.
  11. I've heard that engine called a 454, but as SoDak says a 427 would look the same from out side. Generally speaking, Chevy Engines in kits are really only divided into Big Block and Small Block, unless you are trying to replicate an Exact Engine. Then it is worth hunting down Tim Boyd's, excellent articles (in the other mag) on how to tell the various engines apart. Those articles will help you to build a specific engine for a specific car. For General Shelf Building, I don't get too far in the weeds, as to what is what, per engine displacement.
  12. Yeah, Mike & Rob, those (ex) Monogram Goodyear Trackers are very Long-in-the-Tooth. Most of us should have a several sets in our junk boxes. Monogram used them in just about every truck or jeep they tooled for 20 years. I kinda wish Revell would tool up something else, but that will never happen. I had not noticed the Eight (!) Lug Wheels on the new Luv. I'm sure that the optional wheels on the GMC Plow truck will work on the LUV. I hope if this sells well, that Revell will consider a 4x4 version of the LUV. The Mule would be nice, but the parts from the High Roller Version would be nice to have back too. (Bet Most Folks don't Know there was a High Roller version of the LUV) https://www.scalemates.com/kits/monogram-2280-chevy-luv-high-roller--539172 http://www.popscreen.com/p/MTE2NDg2ODMw/CHEVY-LUV-4x4-Truck-LIFTED-HIGH-ROLLER-Monogram-124-Pickup-Kit-Model- Possible Unique parts fro the High Roller. Lifted Suspension, Unique Wheels & Tires, Roll bar and KC Lights, and Sunroof. I'm not sure how many of these parts were in other versions of the LUV Kit. The High Roller seems to be that last Marketed Version of the kit. Casey had a nice write up on his site, but it seems to have been removed due to Photo-Bucket Link-Rot.( I am making this assumption without any info)
  13. Here are the instructions for the Mojave Mule. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/monogram-instructions/monster-trucks--pullers/monogram-mojave-mule-/?view=roll#1 The differences I can see are: Wheels, Roll Bar, Front Axle, Push Bumper and Windscreen "Buzzard Bars". I wonder if any 'extra' parts will be in the box.
  14. 1/24 Airplane decals will not fit most cars. Planes are Big, and what fits on th e side of a plane will probably only fit on the hood of a car. From past experience with Nose Art, 1/48 seems to work best.
  15. I find that 1/48 scale fighter nose art is best on 1/25 scale cars & trucks. Just be sure that when you use the 'Stars 'n' Bars' that the point on the Star points Up! The US Star always 'stands' on two points, with the single point Up.
  16. That never works, Tom. The 'one' part you need to finish the second kit, will not re-appear until after you have given up the project. This even works with scratchbuilt parts. When I make anything now, I'll make at least two of them, because one is sure to vanish.
  17. Amen, Rick! I've seen him out of the corner of my eye, if I turn fast enough.
  18. That Rack is Awesome! I'd like to see a How-To on how you built it. You nailed the rest, too. Great Build!
  19. Mine will most likely get some Monogram 1/24 Centerlines swapped in, and the rest will be OOB. I want one of these kit though. I ruined one in 1978, and I'd like another crack at it.
  20. So, any previews or builds on this kit yet? I'm keen to see what's in the box.
  21. Paul. That '59 Dodge Rocks!! Where and When do I send money?!?!?! What base Kit d I use for the Conversion, or is it a complete "curbside' build? Thanks!
  22. I want to build a Fire engine finished in the Eye Scorching Lime Green Colour that was used in North America in the late 1970's and thru the 1980's. It seem to have fallen out of favor after that, and I have not seen any green apparatus in many years. That said, I'd like to source a couple of spray cans of this colour for a couple build projects this year. Any thoughts on who might sell some? Thanks, Alan
  23. Lousy Wheels, but you can swap wheels from any of the old Monogram (Revell) '55 Ford Pickup kits, or the Monogram (Revell) '40 Ford Pickup kits. Gives you better choices. I'm wantin' one.
  24. So, Salvinos, has Pooched it Twice? First with the Chrysler rear suspension and now the replacement parts to correct the first error, are too small? Great Quality Control and Research there, Rick! This pretty much ensures that I'll never need to purchase anything from them. Why reward multiple failures?
  25. While I feel that way with some kits, Kevin, others just leave me cold. But that is just me.
