  1. Not to mention, that they are now Stratospherically Priced "Un-Obtainium". I've chased a few of these sets online, and they now sell for truly stupid money.
  2. True This! I like the AMT kits, but recognize that for today's noobs they may not be a good Choice.
  3. The Best AMT Truck kit? As Brian said, AMT Heavy Truck kits are sloppy, ill fitting Kludge. Great subject matter, but the multi-piece chassis, and vague parts fit and cab mountings, will turn off a new builder in a heartbeat. The tooling on the AMT kits is just not up to modern expectations. I'd start with either the Revell Pete and Kenworth that he mentioned, or an Italeri truck kit. The have better tooling.. Note that because of size and complexity, ALL Big Rig kits are more hassle than a car or pickup. Just the nature of the Beast, IMHO. So there is more test fitting and puzzling things out than there is on your average "Tamigawa" kit. Take it slowly, and take a break when things get tough. Put it down for a couple days, and then come back to it. Many times this will help you get a better idea of how something should be solved. Hope This Helps.
  4. Thanks, for the answer Claude. I don't think it is enough to worry about.
  5. A street driven Petty Tribute car. How neat! Great idea.
  6. What is the blue Roller Looking thing sticking out from the bottom, near the engine? Speedometer fixture?
  7. Wow! Fantastic work. I too, had never seem one of these. Great Build!
  8. I am loving the new kit. I've sourced the 8-Lug Rims/Tires from Scenes Unlimited, and now I'm going after a Resin '73 Grill. I'm starting on making my copy of Grampa's Truck. I'm pleased with how clean the parts in my kit are. Some tool cleanup was done, and it shows.
  9. Ah, Mark, that explains a whole lot. I guess I'll just need to buy another '64 kit, as a parts donor for the '63. I am still excited by the '63 kit. I just like it's looks better.
  10. Thanks for the helpful answers, Dave. It is nice to learn the histories of these kits. I hope the old engine can be found.
  11. Nice, Rare Kit. Yours looks very nice. A great Survivor.
  12. I hope the kit is the LWB that Revell showed earlier. I have the Italeri Kit in both forms, and of course, like all Landrover fans, I lust for the Legendary Monogram SWB Kit. I know that the Monogram kit will never be seen again (Does Atlantis Models have it! I'd love to ask). I place my new Landrover hopes in this new kit. I'm anxious to see what is in it. I know I'll be getting more than three or four on these kits.
  13. Just starting a new thread just for the upcoming '63 Impala. I am really wondering What parts will be in the box. AS most know, the engine was re-tooled back in the 80's/90's to a simplified version, and some of the extra parts vanished. I wonder what parts Round2 will be able to salvage. The Intake Manifold for the Fuel Injection option has somehow migrated to the '64 Impala tool. However the Stacks for said system remain on the '63 Chrome tree. I hope that somehow Round2 can get all the parts back in the same box for the '63. I hope also that we can get two sets of tires, in addition to the improved decal sheet that always accompanies these updated kits. I've included scans of the directions from both an older version of the kit, and what I believe was the most recent re-issue. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1961-1970/amt-1963-chevrolet-2/?view=roll#1 https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1961-1970/amt-1963-chevrolet-1/?view=roll#1 I want this kit.
  14. Ben, I don't remember. Let me dig mine out and check it.
  15. So, should I build mine, or keep it as a collectible?
  16. I had one of these kits. I finally traded to to a fellow club member who wanted it more than I did. Your build looks beautiful.
  17. I have this kit. I have never seen another.
  18. Well, I'm Halfway there then. It is Red/Red, not Red/Blue, but I'll figure something out then.
  19. Isn't there an all red Twinsonic on the Datsun Monster Truck that Round2 had out in 2016?
  20. My Matador Race Car has the Stock Grill in it. I can see where it shares some parts with the stock kit. It would be nice to have it back as the Street Car.
  21. Craig, your build looks great so far. Keep at it.
  22. Craig, the Uptop from the Dukes Jeep will NOT fit the Hogan's Heros Jeep. Only the Jeeps with the CJ-5/CJ-7 Nose.
  23. Both of My Daisy Duke Jeeps have the uptop, but they are both older kits. I'm not sure if all of the "Dukes" Jeeps have an uptop.
  24. That Colour is perfect. That is what I remember them looking like when they were new.
  25. That Chassis is Sweet! Wheels are perfect for it.
