  1. Stopped back by WalMart yesterday and they had a "fresh" shipment of models. Had the Black Beauty, Chevelle El Camino camper, 69 Cuda, 55 Nomad, John Wick Chevelle, some of the snap-kits and Craftsman series Pontiacs, also the Mach Won Mustang FC. The Mustang followed me home.
  2. I tried posting in this thread: First Model/ Hobby room that did not double as my childhood bedroom. - General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars) - Model Cars Magazine Forum Got the same as this one: Can't Respond To A Thread - How To Use This Board - Model Cars Magazine Forum Will try to post again. Just tried and had the same issue. 10:24 12/6/24 They post fine in this thread.
  3. Really enjoy watching parts box builds. I have a couple in my display, both based on leftover AMT 40 Willys kits. (Just posted this picture to see if it would go through, having trouble with some other threads.)
  4. Seems to be the same issue I am having in my post.
  5. Have been trying to download some photos in a thread. When I hit submit a black screen appears with a large white square in the middle. In that square is the Model Car Magazine logo and below it these words: "Oops! That page can't be found. It looks like nothing was found at that location. Maybe try a search." A couple of places in the black borders it says "Debugging in Word Press". Can someone tell me what is happening?
  6. Nice buggy. The color fits it very well. A little over three years ago, on my school bus route there was a Manx (or Manx lookalike) sitting out in a cow pasture. It had been there awhile. I almost asked about it, but I figured sitting out in the sun that long the fiberglass would be quite deteriorated.
  7. Stopped by WalMart today, dropped by the toy department to see what might be left on their most recent model display. The models and the rack were gone. An associate was putting out some toys and I asked her if it had been moved. She checked her hand-held device and even checked in a back room. She told me they were all gone, but they should be getting another rack in sometime mid-week. Guess I'll be going back up there mid-week to see if anything transpires.
  8. Here is my WIP 1980 Pinto. I do have the latest Pinto release kit and the 79/80 Pony Express kit, so I can do a front clip swap to make a model of this one. Right now, I am attempting to swap steering wheels for a Mustang II GT wheel I had in one of my parts cars, installing a radio/CD player, and getting the heating system reinstalled. It is a bit cold around here lately, right now it is 35 F with a 33 F wind chill. It got down to 27 F last night.
  9. Some very interesting work on this rail. Really like the paint work, shows some creativity and imagination. I know it is a bit late now but did you by chance consider O-rings for front tires. They come in all sizes and they are rubber. Just a thought. Anyway, really like where this build is going.
  10. An amazingly detailed build. It has been a while since I built a NASCAR kit. I noticed much of the tubing, especially the chassis and the rear roll bar are of square tubing rather than round. When did they switch?
  11. Got my table reserved, so all you who are coming bring lots of money.
  12. Chrysler has often been ahead of it time in styling vehicles, this is one of them. Just looking at this one, those headlights would look cool on a 49-51 Ford custom or maybe a 55-56 Chevy custom. They are just a bit different than the 55 Buick headlight units so many customizers used.
  13. That is some mighty sweet box art. Maybe I need to do my 1:1 Pinto like that?🤔
  14. Very original idea. That concept would work very well here in Lexington, NC (the BBQ capitol of the world - according to them). Just one crude comment, the power of a Hemi fits the pig theme very well. JK.
  15. Found these at WalMart today. Their display is not as large as usual, only one side. The 3500 was $19.97 and the Demon was $24.97. I also noticed they carry sheets of decal paper. I didn't check prices, but the sheets appear to be 8X10. They have clear and white and they are designed for ink-jet printers.
  16. Really like this build, some excellent scratchbuilding/craftsmanship. Good job building two mediocre kits.
  17. Seems like everyone has beat me to the accolades for this build, but I will repeat them anyway. That bodywork is flawless, and I really like the color you chose. The concept is futuristic, except Ford has introduced a 4-door Mustang in their EV line. However, yours looks 100% better than the Ford monstrosity.
  18. Really like the looks of this build, that color fits the Chevy body style so well. Interior color should look just right for this build. I have this kit in my stash (older version). I have one question: what fills the floorboard area from the firewall back to the front seat? That is part of the reason mine is still on the shelf. Maybe I missed something when I looked through the kit?
  19. Definitely a different concept. Very nice clean build, really like the paint.
  20. I finally got my Pinto back from the upholstery shop, he did an excellent job. One of my parts cars has the 3-spoke Ford GT steering wheel in it which I think will look better in my driver. Went to Harbor Freight and bought one of their steering wheel pullers. Used my other parts car as an experiment to make sure the puller would work. No problem the steering wheel popped right off, same with the second parts car with the GT wheel. Put the puller on my driver, began cranking on the center bolt and one of the side bolts stripped out. The kit has two different size bolts so I took the larger one, drilled out the hole, tapped it and tried again. Again it stripped out the hole. Drilled in a bit deeper, retapped, tried again, same results. I have been fighting this thing for four days. I have tried u-bolts around the steering wheel arms, through a 3/16 steel channel, it bent the steel channel. I straightened out the plate, welded some reinforcements in place, tried again and it cracked the steering wheel arms. As I see it my only option now is to swap steering assemblies with my parts car. However, I will also have to use the parts car ignition key because to remove the ignition key/lock mechanism requires the steering wheel to be removed.
  21. Excellent Pro-Stock build, and as it says on the door a "Super Clean" build. Really like these older Pro-Stocks.
  22. If it wasn't for the brick in the background giving away the size, this build could easily pass for a 1:1 Nova. Very cleanly built and outstanding detail work. Also, welcome to the forum.
  23. You will probably have to make one. As far as I know that particular decal is not in any kit or on any aftermarket decal sheet.
  24. Evil, wicked, mean, and nasty. Excellent Gasser build, probably my favorite of all time drag-racing classes. Really like the FORD power, must be a high-dollar team to afford one of those. Attitude and altitude are perfect. The only thing I see missing is one of these: decals. That would fit right in to A/G class, maybe B.
