  1. Grump would have bit his cigar in half behind the wheel of this monster. Very nicely done.
  2. This is definitely award winning work. As Ace said, I have kept pictures of the Oldsmobile with the thought in mind of attempting to build it; your build is amazing. As to the Pontiac this is the first time I have ever seen it. Wish I could offer some suggestions to solving the problem with the canopy, but I have never tried that. Keep at it and you will find a solution. This build must be completed, it is too beautiful and too much work to put back into a box.
  3. OK, you had me with "65 Chevelle. I owned one, not a Z16, but a 283 4 speed, and it was just about the same color, although not as metallic. I have two of these in my stash and am planning on building one to replicate the one I owned. I really like your idea with the holes for the PE. I have that PE set and was under the impression you had to remove the complete grille section then bend the PE to shape to fit the hole. I like your approach better and may make me move my build up the ladder quicker. Will definitely be following this build watching for any problem areas.
  4. As if a stock Cobra was not bad enough, you went and added a whole lot more to it. Excellent concept and beautiful build.
  5. Really like the way this is coming together. Here are a couple of pictures for encouragement. I realize it is not a '62, but it is still a C1 Vette
  6. Nice color for this big old boat. Looking forward to more updates.
  7. I seem to remember someone building the Waters & Murray '29 roadster drag car. Since it is impossible to scroll through the pages of the drag-racing forum I am asking the forum at large. Today I was looking through my December '56 issue of Rod & Custom and they did an excellent 5 page article on its construction and also a color cover photo. Was I dreaming or is this car being built and would whoever is building it be interested in the information from R&C?
  8. Interesting build. For some reason that box art shot somehow makes me thin of an A-10, I guess it is the canopy and short nose. Anyway looking forward to your build.
  9. It is always most enjoyable to watch an artist at work, and this definitely is artistry at its finest. I thought heating a piece of styrene rod to build a roll cage was neat, but this build is way beyond anything I have ever witnessed. Please keep the updates coming.
  10. Back in 1972, the first time I reenlisted in the USAF I was going to use my reenlistment bonus to buy a new vehicle. At that time vans were just getting started as the "bomb". I went to the Chevrolet dealer and they didn't have any on the lot. Went down the road to the Ford dealer and they had four telephone vans that the customer refused delivery. Offered me a pretty good deal on them, but I just could not get used to the color and I knew a paint job would be more than my meager income would allow. So, I went back to the Chevrolet dealer and bought my first pick-up truck: hugger orange C10, 350, automatic, AM radio, and a rear step bumper.
  11. WalMart has a pretty good selection of nail polishes, and they vary in prices from a couple of dollars upwards. Edit: Looks like Ace beat me to it.
  12. Finding a parking space in a regular parking lot would be an adventure. This is one fine looking build. Really nice paint.
  13. I have this kit in my stash along with the Cadillac and the Duesenberg SJ. Just looking at this build makes me want to dig one of them out and build it. The change of wheel colors does make it look more realistic. But I am taken more by the paint stripe along the top of the body, that is some outstanding tape work. Really like this build.
  14. Going to be an interesting project to follow. I have seen pictures of short track Vettes, so it is not an inconceivable build.
  15. On Veteran's Day and Memorial my VFW post passes out "Buddy Poppies" at the local WalMart. We have a donation bucket on the table, but do not actively solicit donations. What really irks me though are the people who will say "Don't need it" or will turn their head away and practically run into the store to avoid us. We are not pushy and will speak kindly to all the people who come through the door. But I have really wanted to just grab some of these people by the nape of the neck, shake them, and gently explain to them the meaning and cost of their freedom so they can be the jack-asses they are.
  16. Really enjoying watching this build come together, I have the Monogram 1/32 slotcar and static models of it. May have to attempt some of your fixes on the 1/32 someday. One thing that has been bugging me is the different sizes of seats in this car, what is the reasoning behind that?
  17. I have three of the AMT 40 Willys Coupe/Pickup kits and some bits and pieces from other kits. I have plans for all these and have built variations of three of them. Would really like to see a reissue of the Willys Coupe/32 (?) Ford custom sedan kit. I have a few sedan bodies but only a couple of them have the molded in fenders.
  18. Amazing work in such a small scale. Too bad so much of the interior detail work will never be seen, but you know it is there. You said in your initial post the holes in the fenders had some sort of glass over them, considering their locations were they there to inspect possible tire wear? Really looking forward to updates.
  19. OK, who has the knife and salt, a slice of watermelon would taste pretty good about now. That is one very nice build, 'sweet' concept, and exceptional execution. I like it.
  20. Nice pair of hi-power Fords. The yellow looks great on both of them, nice change from the red, white, blue livery. Looking forward to what you do with '66 models.
  21. Looking forward to this build, I really love Gassers. Your attention to some of the details is going to be worth the price of admission. Keep those updates coming. Including a picture of a C/G '58 Chevy from the SEGA race at North Wilkesboro Dragway this past summer
  22. Some really cool builds. I've never seen these before. You might want to take the beach Babe by MacDonalds and get her something to eat, looks like her stomach is about to rub her spine.
