  1. Beautiful build, that red really sets it off very well. Really impressed with the detail of the badge work on the trunk lid.
  2. What size is the opening of the slick? Sometimes wrapping the wheels with a couple layers of tape will work, but, if the wheels fall through I don't think that will work.
  3. Can this one be called a Super-Nova? Excellent work and beautiful color choice.
  4. Doing some really nice work on this one, especially like that color. You mentioned in an above post there was nothing to keep the rear-end centered. What you need is to add a Panhard bar, that is a bar attached to one side/end of the axle housing and the other end is attached to the opposing side of the chassis. Of course, each end is attached so it can rotate, but in effect it keeps the axle in place.
  5. Can also be found here, and they have most of the kits from '64 and up. AMT 1969 Corvair #099-38159 album | DRASTIC PLASTICS MODEL CAR CLUB | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.
  6. It is a pretty straight forward swap. The major issue between the two is the dropped center tulip panel on the 60 as opposed to the flat tulip panel on the 61. On mine I cut the C pillars with a bit of extra styrene so I could have a larger gluing surface. For windows I got a set of vacu-form from Modelhaus, although looking back I believe the rear window from the 60 Starliner could be made to fit.
  7. Never say never. There was an annual kit of the '61 Starliner. Yes, would be awesome to rerelease it. I used the '60 Starliner top on the '61 Galaxie to build a model of my aunt's first car. She used to take me to town on Saturdays with a pocket full of money, usually $2 or less, to buy models.
  8. If you are considering mirrors, as mentioned in your initial post, they can be purchased fairly reasonably at Walmart and Hobby Lobby. To raise the model above the mirror some people use regular automobile lug nuts painted and placed one under each tire or maybe two if you are adventurous. Personally, I use communion cups turned upside down and placed on a mirror. I have rectangle and oval shaped mirrors. The communion cups are leftovers from my years as a minister.
  9. Really enjoy watching this build come together. Your attention to detail is phenomenal. In the pictures of the SSDI article it appears as if he is running air bags on the rear axle, of course it could just be shadows. Might make for some hard wheels up launches.
  10. I have been wanting to attend this event, but according to the CMS schedule I saw, the NHRA is racing at Z-Max this weekend. Sort of odd they would also schedule the Auto Fair the same weekend. I am still searching for parts for my Pinto maybe I can make the next one in the spring.
  11. AMT has a 68 Camaro Z-28. I have seen them in Hobby Lobby and pretty sure they are available on line.
  12. Excellent tutorial, I can envision a couple of builds this will work well on. Besides it gives me something to do with all those old X-Acto blades.
  13. Beautiful build. I can't find anything I do not like about this build. It is super clean, great color choice, and an excellent overall build.
  14. You beat me to it. My thoughts exactly. Fuel-injected small block, 10.5's on the rear, would be so wicked with the black paint job.
  15. Would like to know if they have vendor tables and are any available
  16. Good looking Lightening, very clean build. Is that rear bumper in the kit?
  17. A gentleman showed up at our last VFW meeting driving a 1:1 of this truck. It was dropped about 4 inches all the way around, painted a mile-deep black, IIRC it was sporting torque thrust mags. Very beautiful truck. Now what are your plans for this one?
  18. Is this one on the market yet? I think I might need one of those.
  19. Excellent build. Love those older builds when stock cars actually looked like stock cars.
  20. Beautiful Gasser, color fits it very well.
  21. A couple light coats of clear or the Testor's decal stuff (can't remember the name right now) will definitely be required to protect the inks from dissolving in the water. The best way I have found to do this is to tape all four corners of the decal sheet to a piece of thick cardboard before applying the clear. That should keep the decal sheet from curling up.
  22. Went to a high school football game Friday night, my neighbor went with me. Saturday afternoon he called and told me he had Covid. Went to the drugstore and bought a test kit. Second test this morning showed negative, so all is good, at least on my end. Neighbor is still down.
  23. Over the past few days I have noticed the forum works fine when I first login to it. However, as I progress down the page it begins to get slower and slower response. Eventually I will leave just to get it to stop a search. Don't know if this helps or not.
  24. Some really good pictures. Got to love an injected BBF Fairlane.
