  1. Excellent build of one of the more beautiful Tri-5's. Really like the color combination and your attention to cleanliness in building is over the top.
  2. Mighty fine looking sedan. Some excellent scratchbuilding. Are you going to drill holes in the visor to allow air to escape at speed?
  3. I have used those quite often. Another good source is to go to your nearest sign maker. Many of them use different thicknesses of styrene and have barrels full of scrap pieces and will sell them fairly reasonable. The pieces may not be square, but are usually large enough to cut some usable pieces.
  4. Don't forget a water filter/trap. Looks like there is one on the unit, but it is not mentioned in the ad.
  5. Really cool street rod. Don't see too many in yellow, but I like it.
  6. Very cool VW pickup. You said those are AMT winter tires, where did you get them? Thanks.
  7. An overall excellent LSR. Looks record-breaking fast just sitting there. Very good job on the weathering.
  8. These have been in the magazine for years. There have been some very talented artists submissions, and yes, plenty of inspiration for builds. I have a couple in mind to build, when I get around to them.
  9. Not bad - - - for a slot car. If it don't go Vroom, Vroom, I don't want it.
  10. Very nice pickup. That color really brings out the smooth lines of this old warhorse. I also see you did away with the blue-flame 6 for some more usable horsepower. Beautiful build, thanks for sharing.
  11. Looking really good. As all the rest I really enjoyed Beetle Bailey, so did my WWII vet father, he drove a Jeep among other vehicles. These older Jeeps were pretty simple all flat construction except for the hood. Looking forward to progress.
  12. Academy released a model of the Hyundai Azera, although it was the Korean version and has a slightly different grille treatment. It seems you cannot swing a dead cat without hitting a Hyundai Santa Fe or Sonata, or for that matter a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. The Academy Hyundai is a very respectable kit, I think they would so well to get deeper into the vehicle market, they are already pretty strong in sci-fi and aircraft/military. With the top two US makers cutting back on their sedans and focusing primarily on CUV's, SUV's, and other forms of V's, I am unsure as to which way the model companies should focus their efforts.
  13. Did any stock flatheads, non-Ardun. have four exhausts pipes? I was just looking through a site which features the '29 Ford RPU used by Ralph Malph in Happy Days and it shows four exhaust pipes, but it also shows a flathead engine. https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0118-313114/1929-ford-hi-boy-roadster-pickup/ EDIT: I just looked at it again and upon closer inspection the headers are set off from the engine block with brackets and do not appear to be real exhaust at all. However the pipes are heat discolored as if they are used. Any thoughts on this?
  14. Looks really good. I like these builds of cars we owned. Good luck with the rest of the build.
  15. Maybe this is a real one and the only picture he could find was a model kit.
  16. Thanks, the headers were scratchbuilt using solder and some plastic tubing for the collector.
  17. Cool Ranchero, overall nice save. Like those colors. Is it curbside or did you install an engine?
  18. Excellent build, smooth paint and really like the way that top-chop flows. Beautiful!!
  19. This is a pretty nice kit, except for the plastic axles and the huge hole through the engine block with what looks like CV joints on the block sides. I also have one in work, a dual-quad BBC Street/Gasser. I need to rework the front axle, too much nosebleed as it is now.
  20. Simply stunning build. Love those old Ford trucks. Your color choice is perfect.
  21. Very nice work on one of the back markers of NASCAR., Wondering about the exterior door handles, shouldn't they have been removed?
  22. The 50 Ford Convertible also has an uptop. Some of the reissue kits also have a Carson top or a Deville half-top and a chopped windshield.
  23. WOW!! is not sufficient for this build. Your scratchbuilding abilities are off the chart.
  24. Harry Gant is also one of my favorite drivers. Saw him race Late Models at Hickory Speedway, NC, a few years before he moved up the ladder.
  25. Many of these cars evolved on a weekly basis so whatever you decide to do is probably close to at least one rendition. You are doing some mighty fine work on this build, looking forward to updates.
