  1. Beautiful paint work. Candy can be a difficult paint to work with, but it seems you have mastered this one.
  2. Outstanding detail painting, really like the way those wheels turned out. Keep those updates coming.
  3. That interior is so sweet. Makes me drool all over my keypad. Really like the vinyl look on the seats.
  4. I agree with Ace, split heat-shrink. However if you can remember to add it before gluing everything together, you can often find some small enough, or place it on some appropriate sized aluminum tubing, heat it then slide it off and put it on your roll bar tubes.
  5. One I have in work. The interior bucket is part Firefighter Mustang and Pontiac Firebird snap-kit Pro-Stock, the incomplete cage work and chassis are scratchbuilt. I will be using the Ford engine from the Firefighter kit. Having some issues with paint, so this one is back in the box until I can get my basement work area back together.
  6. AMT Willys with the injected SBC from the Nomad kit. Scratchbuilt headers, home printed decals, and scratchbuilt trailer. Green tint windows are from some packaging material I had lying around.
  7. This is a 1/32 '55 Chevy I threw together for a slump buster. I found the slicks, front axle, and blower in the scrap box. The headers, hairpins, ladder bars, injectors, Moon fuel tank, and driveshaft loops are scratchbuilt. I think I may need to put it back on the table and lower that front end a little.
  8. Not trying to be a smart---- but that could be from many different kits. To me many of those chassis looked alike, very little difference to indicate particular make and model of vehicle.
  9. Here is a link that may help. https://www.instructables.com/id/Forcibly-Aging-Wood/
  10. I use pipe cleaners soaked in lacquer thinner to clean inside the body of my airbrush. Sometimes I will slide the pipe cleaner inside and let it soak for a few minutes just to make sure all the paint residue is loose.
  11. Used to see similar vehicles buzzing around the streets and roads of Thailand and Korea. Never thought of modeling one though, although I would love to find a Dhiatsu 1-ton in 1/25 scale.
  12. Be sure to take plenty of pictures.
  13. I have a rather large collection of newsprint end cuts. I have installed clips along the top and hang the newsprint around inside my booth. When they get too messy I simply replace the paper. Since the paper is almost white it is fairly bright inside the booth.
  14. X2, especially how you are going to get the power to the rear axle.
  15. Star Resins has a 2-dr '55 Chevy wagon. I would think if you swapped a '56 Del Ray front clip and taillights you could easily have a '56 2-dr wagon. http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/STAR Models/55_Chevy_Handiman_SW.html I got a 4-dr '55 wagon from them. It is a bit thick but a very nice body. Steve Kohler is easy to deal with, just email him to make sure the body is available.
  16. Many of the kits on my shelf, waiting to be built, are repops of kits I had earlier. The ones I am really missing are the AMT/SMP/MPC annuals from 1960 through around 1973.
  17. This will be post #1000 for me. It has been a good ride so far.
  18. You may want to put the wrapped model inside a zip-lock bag in case parts come loose. If the kit is bagged the recipient will be able to find any loose parts and not accidentally throw them away. I speak from experience as a recipient of a complete kit that was missing parts, some I later found in the folds of the shipping box, others were gone forever.
  19. Definitely a different approach. This is what I like about modeling, the creativity that is available is only a simple thought away. With a bit of planning and a bunch of intestinal fortitude, anyone can build almost anything their mind can conceive. Where did you find that body?
  20. Like the looks of this custom. I have one in my stash I am considering building with these custom pieces. BTW, thanks for your service from another SEA survivor.
  21. Beautiful build. Like the color combination and as mentioned that seat pattern is outstanding. Only thing missing is a couple of suitcases and kids in the back.
  22. Kind of nice piece of equipment. Would make another nice looking tool on the already overcrowded work bench. Where might one purchase one of these?
  23. A lot of that seems to be going around, seems to be fairly contagious..
  24. Very nice work on the Ranger, just hope mine makes it to that far. Great story. Wondering why the engine bay is so clean on a daily beater?
  25. Stunning build. Lots of detail and weathering to keep my eyes busy. Being a veteran I really like the bumper sticker. Great job.
