Very nice Barracuda, really smooth paint. Overall clean build. Two thumbs up.

Beautiful Studebaker. Very neat concept and some clean building. I like it.

Awesome work. Love those FORDS and that '63 is especially nice. Thanks for sharing.

Barris '70 Impala (finished interior 16th December)
TarheelRick replied to geetee66's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Will be watching your progress on this one. I have that kit, only I am building it as a mid 70's I or J/SA drag car and am wanting to do something more than a plain paint job. Keep those updates coming. -
Just completed a great trade with Ranma. I was a bit surprised to find some extra parts in the box. Deal was made quickly and fast shipping. Great trader.

It took a second, but then I realized what was being said. Got a chuckle from it. -
You still may want to contact the seller and ask about the opening trunk. It looks to me like the box cover is a 1:1, none of the 57's I know of had poseable front wheels. Just because it is molded in color, does not necessarily mean it is a new tool. Not trying to be confrontational, just want to be sure you know what you are getting.

Good place to get pro-touring fender flares?
TarheelRick replied to brodie_83's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
None in my files, although I have seen it done. I am planning on trying them on a build. -
I looked for many years trying to find the chopped top glass and finally found a couple of them at a model show/swap meet. Now if I could just find a complete set of the stylized custom pieces I would be in hog heaven. EDIT: PM sent

Plastic spoons can also be cut and made into fender flares. -
Yeah, I miss that ability to develop and print my own B/W pictures. Haven't used my film camera in a while. It was having some issues, the internal mirror would occasionally stick and I think it may have a small light leak around the film door. I checked with every camera shop (remember those?) to see about getting it repaired and they all tried to sell me a new digital camera. I contacted the manufacturer and got the same run around. So now I have a formerly great film camera with a good selection of lenses, which is collecting age in a box in my basement.

I use Duplicolor primers but have a devil of a time with their colors. My issue is with the nozzles, they seem to spray too much paint which quickly overwhelms the detail of the body. Last two times I tried I also got runs. Maybe I am behind the learning curve on these, but I think it would be easier to decant and run through an airbrush.

Really nice build and excellent photography. I have never really been a Star Trek fan, something about Captain Kirk's overacting turned me off. So I have one question about this starship. Was there a radome to cover the antenna on the forward underneath pod? Not really sure how aerodynamic that open dish would be at warp speed, nor how well it would hold up at that speed. Just a thought about the technical issues of this ship and in no way detracting from your excellent build.

That beast is way over the top. Excellent workmanship and creativity. Who would have thought of an Audi chassis in a '58 land barge Chevy? My hat is off to you, two thumbs up. Beautiful paint job, also.

Beautiful Sunliner. I also have one in the works, it is on it's third paint job , and heading for its fourth repaint - on the way to the dehydrator a gnat landed on the rear fender. As you, I did not wire the engine, I am building this one box stock even using the funky wire wheels.

Beautiful model and I like the way it is displayed. For the MIG, just crumple a piece of paper and lay it below the F-86, should be a fairly accurate diorama.
-
Very creative concept. I have one of these complete roofs in the parts box, and your build is giving me some ideas of how to use it. Looking forward to updates.

I saw this movie in an "outdoor theater", not a drive-in. I was in Thailand in '71-72 and one of our base theaters was outside. Anyway, I remember during the chase scene I was leaning in my seat as the cars swerved and on a couple of occasions I felt my self pressing into the seat as if I had just landed a jump. Beautiful experience, have watched it several times since but have never felt those sensations.

Love these old lead sleds so will be watching this revival. I like the looks of that forward hinging hood, do you have some better pictures of how you did it?

Don't know what you said, but I am glad you said it - that means I am pretty much computer illiterate. Also glad to hear you are recovering. I'm sure there will be some grumbling along the way, yet the finished product will be worth the wait. -

Way cool early 50's style show rod before "show rods" got out of hand.
