vintage modified
TarheelRick replied to redzed's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Beautiful old modified, grew up watching these cars run. Always have had a soft spot for them. -
Beautiful Gasser, one of my favorite classes of drag cars. Your scratchbuilt parts are very convincing and add to the overall look of the car. And the front end is not in the nose-bleed area. Very well done.

78 dodge welding rig
TarheelRick replied to zaina's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Going to be an interesting build to watch. The move to 4WD was essential, you have to have the capabilities to go out in the middle of fields to repair farm equipment or to work on pipelines. IMHO if you want dependability stick with the Miller welder; Lincoln is ok, but Miller rules. -
Amt Crew Chief Blazer
TarheelRick replied to NOBLNG's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
With the brick wall background, it has a very realistic look to it. Nicely done build, great attention to detail and I really like the color scheme. -
How big is your... stash?
TarheelRick replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Not sure how many I have in my stash. Sort of afraid to count, but I do know I have more than I will ever build. -
Curtis Turner - The USAC years
TarheelRick replied to curt raitz's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Those are two really nice builds. Curtis was a class act. Is that '64 the Craftsman series Ford? -
Another amazing build from your bench and your photographic skills bring this model to life. Excellent work.

65 Ford F100
TarheelRick replied to raisin27's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Definitely one fine looking F-100. Beautiful color choice and paint job. Very nice photographic work also. -
Back in early November I ordered some items from Hobby Search (located in Japan). I have ordered from them in the past and received my packages within a reasonable time. According to their email to me my package was shipped on 8 November. I was given a tracking number which dead-ends at Kanagawa (Japan?) on 11/10 at 15:43. Now I did use Surface Parcel, even then the cost was pretty steep, any other form of shipment would have almost doubled the cost of my order. I figure the package got stuck in a container and has been almost around the world and is now sitting outside San Diego. Anyone else dealt with Hobby Search lately and having similar issues?

The real nightmare is backing that big butt up, it really doesn't swing that badly turning. Looking forward to this build. Will watch this build closely, I have been wanting to build one for some years now, maybe your build will be the motivation I need. I just this past week stopped driving a yellow bus and have relegated my driving to activity runs and sports. I drove in a neighboring county for four years and have driven in my home county for the past 10 1/2 years. Jeff for authenticity you will have to have gum, candy, and crackers crushed into the floor; maybe a spot of vomit since you are building an elementary bus.

Mine came in yesterday's mail. Some really good stuff on haulers. Got to get to the bench and build me one.

‘72 Blazer (Crew chief version)
TarheelRick replied to Steve H's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice-looking rig and your photographic presentation just makes it look that much better. Beautiful build. -
Normally outside lighting does work better, but on these two photos the inside one looks best. Very pretty color either way.
-
Beautiful work on this icon, also agree the color fits it well. Just a suggestion, the overhead lighting you are using is quite strong and washes out the color. Put some sort of filter over the light to slightly diffuse it.

Not familiar with this kit, but just a couple suggestions. You may have to do some minor alterations to the chassis or try tucking the headers in as close to the block as you can for clearance.

Just received my latest order from Texas 3D Customs and again am totally blown away. Got a couple of Econoline seats, couple of Powerglides, and an injected Ford SOHC. IMHO these pieces should be displayed in the Louvre art museum, they are that beautiful. Now I just need to find my workbench, get it cleaned off, and get busy building.

'29 Ford roadster street rod [AMT/Revell kitbash]
TarheelRick replied to Can-Con's topic in Model Cars
Definitely one fine looking street cruiser. Beautiful paint work and those wire wheels really look good. Beautiful piece of work. -
Going to be watching this one. I love those fat-fendered Fords, they can be built in a myriad of ways and none of them are wrong. Didn't Lindberg acquire this mold from AMT, there is very little variation if any between the kits.

Thanks, I think I can do that.
