  1. Guess they are trying to get in shape for Black Friday next week.
  2. On the way to the doctor's office, I got behind a truckload of Thanksgiving dinners heading for their demise.
  3. Although it is beyond my realm of modeling, I am intrigued by the craftsmanship that some put into a model. I am simply amazed by the work you are doing with this rail. Although I might suggest you find another block, looks like a couple of pistons have exited that one (groan).
  4. Well, you beat me to it. I have been collecting very much the same kits and some other pieces to build one similar. Just hope when I get to mine it will look as good as yours. You did some excellent work on this build.
  5. Hmmm, an 'itsy, bitsy teenie-weenie yellow polka-dot bikini', you should write a song about that - wait there already is one. When I saw that second set of pictures, that song is the first thing that popped into my mind. Very nice work on these models; looking forward to more of them.
  6. That is definitely one beautiful Gasser, and as the others have said the paint job is outstanding. Of course, you got my attention with the '56. My first car was a '56 150 model (6 cyl and 3 on the tree), paid $100 for it. To me the '56 is the prettiest of the tri-fives. Thanks for sharing this beautiful machine.
  7. Really sweet Deuce. Might want to change those rear slicks to 10.50's, not sure if the 8.20's will hold that mighty SOHC. Simple, understated, vicious machine; got to love it.
  8. Looks the part of a real Jr. Stocker, one of my favorite genres of drag cars. Very nice, clean overall build.
  9. Some might fine looking Mercurys, I think the yellow and white '64 is my favorite.
  10. Amazing resource. I did notice up in the right corner of the screen was something about a 7-day free trial. Sure hope this freebie is not a lead-in to some form of pay-to-see.
  11. Just won a Teal Blue 1991 Camaro promo from an on-line auction.
  12. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but this thing rally hurts my eyes.
  13. If you don't mind the expense, you could take the model to a paint dealer. Some of them have the ability to scan the paint and come up with a color to match. I took a chip of house paint into my local home improvement store and they were able to match it.
  14. If I remember correctly the '25 T Double kit has a very good representation of a quick-change and there is an acceptable image of one in the Revell T Roadster kit. Kind of a late post since you have already resin cast your own scratch-built unit, which by the way is a very nice-looking unit.
  15. My issue came in yesterday's mail. Have only had time to glance through it but did recognize one build from the KC show. I watched it come together on another forum; the dirt track car by Tom Birky on the top of page 47.
  16. That is one fine looking 58 Gasser. Many people overlook these full-size cars, but they are used quite often. This '61 was at the Southeast Gassers show last year. There was a '58 there this year (didn't take my camera) but he won the B/Gas class.
  17. Probably my second biggest blunder was painting a car on the bed in my bedroom. I was using a cardboard box as a paint booth and had spread newspaper around the front of the box; however, I did not account for overspray. When Mom saw the bedspread, she was not very happy - neither was I! My biggest blunder was selling my first collection of models. I had over a hundred 60-70's annuals, and other assorted kits. I was in the USAF and got tired of packing and moving them every couple of years; besides, I was not building much back then (1985) so I advertised them in the paper and sold the whole lot for $200. I have kicked myself in the rectal orifice several times for that.
  18. Nice looking build, pretty color not too much flake. I am wondering about the rear roof line of that cab; shouldn't it be more squared off like in the picture you posted?
  19. Let me add my kudos to Texas 3D. I ordered a set of the Baja fenders, they are superb. Thinner than kit styrene so look more realistic, really looking forward to getting my workbench back into order so I can do something with them. Will definitely be ordering some more stuff in the future.
  20. Great weathering job on this old workhorse. One thing I noticed is what appears to be a somewhat nose high, lower rear-end stance which would be right for a truck with a load of firewood. Very nice build.
  21. As the others have said, that top chop is really slick. Nice build.
  22. How much attention do you pay to the small print on the side of kit boxes. I just sort of figured all the kits were made in China, however that is not necessarily the case. Yesterday I was down in the basement test fitting the beautiful dune-buggy pieces from Texas 3D to my Revell VW. I noticed a sticker on the inside of the VW top that had a number and the word 'Poland'. I decided to look at the side of the box and here is what I found: Packaged in the USA, Plastic & Tires Poland, Box printed in China, Decals from Italy. This VW kit is truly an international cooperation.
  23. Love it. There is so much detail to look at. This truck is almost a diorama all by itself. Great work.
  24. Very nice indeed. Like the patriotic theme you incorporated.
  25. Going into town yesterday I passed a real moving Ford Probe. Haven't seen one of those in years, I figured they had all been crushed into Priuses by now. Went to a model show today just for a quick walk through to look for some parts. On the way out had an opportunity to talk to a guy with a cherry, original 64 Nova. He said it was the first car he had ever owned; he was in late 60's early 70's. Said he had over 525K miles on it with the little 6-banger. It was a real survivor, no noticeable rust, interior still in good condition, and a well faded reddish paint job. When he mentioned he was getting 30 mpg, I offered to trade my F-150 for it; this 16.9 and 17.8 is killing me.
