  1. Interesting build. Decals came out quite well. What body is this?
  2. What engine are you considering for this one? Going to be fun watching it come together.
  3. Very nice build. Those little 1/32's are fun to work with. I have a couple of them in my display case and a couple more to build. Also have a shoebox full of the older Monogram slot car static kits from the mid 60's that I want to do some restoration work on.
  4. Where in the world did you see "Thunder in Carolina"? I saw that movie at a drive-in with my mom and dad and sisters sometime in 1959. The movie was filmed within 50 miles of my house, which in 1959 was a big deal. In one of the scenes where Rory Calhoun is trying out his racecar on the backroads, there is a black 38 Ford coupe that shows up in the scene, that car belonged to my second cousin. Been wanting to see it again. Now on to your build. Very clean build has the look of that era stock car. Really nice color representation especially with a red plastic base.
  5. Going to be an interesting build. I have a similar idea for mine, not quite as radically low but more streetable. Keep those updates coming.
  6. I could not see myself laying out my hard-earned money for something like that, and then having to pay a buyer's premium on top. Not really sure they could pay me to take it. I would be afraid of laying back, making doobie ashes while listening to some Led Zep, and starting a raging inferno if I dropped aforementioned doobie.
  7. Beautiful conversion work on that wrecker. Nothing like a 6 pack Ford to make it haul. I like it.
  8. Very impressive build. I have the kit and decals in my stash waiting to be done, hope it comes out as clean as your build.
  9. Beautiful little Deuce roadster. The orange really looks good on it, but that Ford under the hood really sets it off.
  10. The prettiest late model Ford ever built, the '40 was the prettiest early model. Looking forward to you work on this one. Really interested in the small jar of glitter (?), are you going to mix that in with your paint. What is it called and where in the store is it found?
  11. I never had very many Jo-Han kits in the 60's. Only two I can remember are the '64 Dodge SS car of Hodges Dodges which had a beautiful set of Cheater slicks (still have them) and the '65 Plymouth Fury II (III) with Sox & Martin decals. These are one-piece slicks, hollow inside. Still a mystery where I got them.
  12. While digging through my stash of tires I came across this set of drag slicks. Not a very good picture, but the best my old Samsung phone could come up with. Anyway, one side says, "Goodyear Blue Streak" the other side says, "Firestone Drag 500". I know they were from some 60's kit but have no idea which one. Anybody remember these?
  13. Actually Dave, I was referring to me as being "dated", I am well past the let's try this new technology. I will just sit back and enjoy the fruits of the labors of others. Just corrected my earlier post.
  14. I have 1/32 copies of the Lola GT Mk6 and would love to see it in a full detail 1/25 scale, also the Lotus 23C like Elvis drove in "Viva Las Vegas" (must include an Ann Margaret in white bikini model). I have images saved somewhere in this computer but cannot find them to upload - give me XP back.
  15. Got mine a couple of days ago. Just had a chance to leaf through it, seems like it is going to be a good issue. May be too "dated" to consider purchasing and learning how to use a 3D printer, but the technology is quite interesting.
  16. Unfortunately, most Pro-Mod trucks or Road-racing trucks will have to come from your ability to craft them from whatever stock truck kits are available. There are many pieces that can be kit-bashed from car kits to build any style truck you wish. Not a very rational option for the kit manufacturers, since there are very few 1:1 organizations promoting these type trucks, such as NASCAR with their truck series. A NASCAR truck kit bashed with a stock kit could be formulated into a rather believable road racing build, as could using the chassis and parts from some of the Pro-mod kits under available truck kits. Just use your imagination and build your idea of what one should look like.
  17. I have built a couple of these and have more in my stash. If you can figure the front clip issue out, you will be considered a modeling genius.
  18. This is my daily driver now, since this picture was taken I have added a bull bar and a topper shell. It has a 5.0, 10 speed 400 hp, 410 lbs./ft torque: This is my other than daily driver, 16 ft. 50 hp:
  19. Beautiful work on this one. I love the custom pieces in those old AMT kits, have a couple I want to attack. Looking forward to more updates.
  20. Yes, we will be able to continue driving our ICE vehicles, if we can afford the $10 or more/gallon of fossil fuel. Which will undoubtedly be heavily rationed and nearly impossible to find. As has been mentioned there is a place for EV, but not a nationwide mandate.
  21. Thanks for the information. I have seen several pictures where some of the cars were four door cars and plenty of the cheaper body styles (Fairlane rather than Galaxies, or Belairs rather than Impalas) so I can understand the suspension pieces.
  22. They also make pretty good dirt track tires. I used a set on my Skeeter build and they worked very well.
  23. I continue to find more details I missed every time I look at this one. It is so simple in concept, but so well finished. Whereabouts on Rte. 66 is this, I happen to have an empty right seat in my F-150.
  24. Not much into the Rat Rod look, but you have definitely recreated a beauty. Nice Job.
  25. That is one mighty pretty more door Oldsmobile. Excellent work.
