  1. For Superbirds painted in Vitamin C orange, I believe that the paint colour on the nose cone was a different shade of orange compared to the body colour. I'm not sure if this difference carried through with all Superbird colours though. Anyone know?
  2. Beautiful. Well done!
  3. Unfortunately, this describes to a tee, an entire generation.
  4. Thanks for the additional storyline. Love it! What happened that #3 didn't make it to this year's GSL? How cool would it have been to have the top 4 together?
  5. Staggeringly cool story Tim and great restoration. One of the best that I've ever read. Amazing how these still exist after all of these years. I'd love to hear the story about how all of the nationwide winners were found and what happened to number three. Thanks for posting this.
  6. I've never heard of this with panel liner before. If you bought this locally, I'd be tempted to take it back there and ask for an exchange.
  7. ?IMHO it would look better without the silver and blue carbs but that's just my opinion...
  8. DON'T CUT THE HOOD!!! ?
  9. Looks as if he's already had a couple of major issues...
  10. Stunning progress in such a short period of time - well done. I'd like to see them reissue this kit.
  11. Seems as if we're in the same spot we were a couple of years ago...the chrome tree exists and its whereabouts are known but the location of the vehicle moulds, if they exist, are known only to a few. You'll recall, that back in 2010 on the Showrods boards, a mystery man named "Pete" claimed that Atlantis had the Stage Ghost moulds but not the chrome mould. He was trying to secure the chrome parts so that Atlantis could get the Stage Ghost reissued. Long story short - 13 years later and we don't know anything more. So - OPEN QUESTION TO ROUND2 AND ATLANTIS - WHICH OF YOU HAS THE MOULDS TO THE PYRO LARAMIE STAGE GHOST AND ARE THERE ANY PLANS TO REISSUE IT?
  12. Be extremely careful painting in a basement. It's not just the stink but also the vapours from spray cans, lacquers, enamel paints etc whose fumes can cause fire/explosion if they come in contact with open flames such as those found in gas furnaces, gas hot water tanks, gas fireplaces etc etc Those flame symbols are on the labels of Tamiya paints (cans and bottles) for very good reasons.
  13. Thanks both for the replies - not the answer that I was hoping for but it is what it is.
  14. Have the parts for the "Stylized" version pictured in red below ever been reissued? This is the original issue and all future issues that I've seen seem to have the "Stylized" version with only one headlight on each side as opposed to the stacked ones in this version. Thanks! 15. WOW - well done! This should be turned into a styrene kit...
  16. I can only speak for the Vallejo mask. When I use it I frequently dip the brush in a water/Sunlight dish soap mix. The key word is "frequently" - if you don't do it as such it will dry up quite quickly.
  17. According to the Atlantis FB page...It's coming!
  18. I would recommend a pointed tooth pick.
  19. Keep on truckin'. I'm a big fan of restoring old kits. Looking forward to this one.
  20. Love this detailed thread! Great work so far! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
  21. Two possibilities: 1. The kit never had the tires to begin with, or; 2. Someone opened the kit, took the tires, then resealed the kit.
  22. LOL. All of what you said is SO true Steve.
  23. Do ANY of these glues work on painted surfaces? I've got a window frame that's already been painted and if I don't have to scrape paint I'd rather not. Thanks!
  24. Dracula by Bram Stoker and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
