  1. A stunning piece of model building, engineering and imagination. Truly impressive. Thanks for detailing all of the modifications/paints used etc
  2. The 4 horizontal chrome strips on the front and back passenger's side fenders are missing on the survivor as is the front door decal. In Earl's link, there is a decal on the driver's side door but I can't make it out. As well, there may or may not be those 4 horizontal chrome strips on the driver's side fenders. I just can't see them well enough.
  3. It's very close - a few differences, but very close. Great sleuthing!
  4. Anyone know the year? '39 - 41? This looks like left hand drive. Was the photo taken in the UK or USA/Canada? Were vehicles like this; busses; and ambulances built in house or were they subcontracted?
  5. Very nice. Yours and these real life ones should all be tooled into styrene models.
  6. Agreed - a little gentle soap and water and I'm sure that about 90-95% of that would clean right off. Not too sure how much is missing though.
  7. The neighbours must be delighted when this baby gets fired up. ?
  8. Oh - is this a chronic problem with this kit?
  9. I love this. I burst out laughing when I saw the first photo just due to the outrageousness of the design. Tremendous modelling and engineering skills!
  10. FANTASTIC!!! Thanks for posting this.
  11. I like the blue version. Is that part of an existing kit or is it custom built?
  12. Yup - I can put the crowbar back in the corner...
  13. You've posted to the wrong forum. You should be in "WANTED" a little further down the main page. Good luck with your hunt.
  14. My first build looked nothing near that good. But then again I WAS working in enamel ? Terrific first build!
  15. A stunning display of model building and engineering!
  16. Agreed...move along folks..nothing to see here...come back again in March...
  17. I'm on a Mac...and I'm seeing those pop pads again after a short lull. I can't speak for anyone else but give what you've said above, I wouldn't mind banner ads or ads down the side. What advertisers don't seem to realize is that by circumventing things and creating ads that appear over content, they make the viewer annoyed at them and their products. I'm not stopping to read a ad over content, I'm going to ignore it at all costs. Advertisers are doing more harm than good to themselves with these types of ads but they don't seem to realize it.
  18. Got ads too a few days ago. Seems Ok now though. I go on a lot of different forums and this is the only one that has this problem...
  19. Thanks for the reply. I just got finished watching a build video of the kit on Youtube. This fellow's kit has a significant warp in the hood and the bed cover (he did the custom version). Did your kit have these problems or did he just get unlucky?
  20. Has anyone on this board converted say the Revell '49 Mercury into the Hirohata? There are certainly enough talented engineers/designers/fabricators here to do it...
  21. Beautiful build. I'm very interested to hear how you did the truck bed: how you did your wood grain; what colours you used for the wood grain; how you painted the metal bed trim; and what the main body colour is. Thanks.
  22. What a stunning chop job! Spectacular!
  23. And to think that I was seriously thinking bout buying this kit from my LHS! Silly me. Thanks for dissuading me Mike. LOL Great job though. Hard to say what caused the warping - manufacturing; storage condition. If they release this kit again, hopefully top quality styrene will eliminate one potential cause for warping...
