  1. So every year, the town I live in puts on a big car show on Canada Day. Closed down the entire downtown area, making room for a few hundred cars. For obvious reasons, last year was cancelled. And this year, for the same reasons it was postponed, and the Canada Day show turned into the Labour Day show. Anyway, weather was perfect, and lots of cool stuff turned out. So here we go... Fords. Mint 1988 wagon. I love it. Wifey is still rolling her eyes at this one. Who would've thought, a million dollar car shows up!
  2. I'm sure at some point I will. Maybe now, 2 years later, the frustrations have disappeared. Maybe. ?
  3. I'd just build it however you want. If you need to do a little cutting to complete your vision, then so be it. Better it get built and enjoyed than languish in a box at the back of your stash, then years down the road you pass on and your family stick them all in a yard sale or a garbage bin. Build, and post pics!
  4. I only use Tamiya sprays. Mainly because I don't have an airbrush setup, and really don't see a need at this time to spend the money on an airbrush. aLthough, it has crossed my mind, mainly for things like spraying chrome. Or seeing some of the colour options from companies like Zero Paints. But for now, I'm happy with rattlecans. As long as you do proper prep work you can get excellent results with a spray can. If it ain't broke, and all that.
  5. Will have to look for those this weekend when I'm stocking up.
  6. For a vibrant red, I would track down pink primer. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishing/fine-surface-primer-l-pink/ I have also seen people prime the body, then paint it gold, then apply the red top coats. Apparently that makes it pop as well, but I've never tried it.
  7. Looking great, and I will for sure be grabbing both the coupe and targa versions. I too thought the photoshopped engine bay decals and dash decals were strange. Looks like they are planning to include decals for the cloth interior.
  8. Just wait, the title of this thread is going to mess with the Google ad algorithms. You think we have problems with ads due to "models" and "drag models?" lolz
  9. Those shows are way before my time. But he did an excellent job playing Santa in Elf.
  10. That looks great! Perfect colour choice.
  11. Nice work on a horrible kit! This is the only kit I gave up on. I have it in a box, about 3/4 done. One day I may finish it.
  12. That Manta is amazing. Any pics of that orange Capri? Have wanted a later Capri 2.8 for years now.
  13. Some very cool stuff there. That patina'd fire department wagon thing is calling me. What's the significance of all the frogs though?
  14. They've done a few. Cobra R GT Convertible GT4 Mustang Probe GTR (technically a Mustang, kind of) Plus the RC stuff. So there is some precedent there. I do think the C8 would be a perfect fit for Tamiya, but having never done a GM product (other than Vauxhall or Opel DTM cars) I'm not sure they would start now. Although, I think I read that they did re-issue one of the Opel kits as an RC car this year. Hmm...
  15. Excellent! A brand new tool, using modern tech. Should be quite accurate! Looking forward to getting both. The Pasha interior was on the earlier generation 911, the SC. These kits appear to be the next gen 1984-1988 cars which didn't have that interior. The cloth interior on these was decidedly less cool. Leather bolsters, cloth inserts with the Porsche script repeated in the same colour. I still like it, but definitely didn't have the wow factor of their earlier cars! The earliest 3.2s had this interior. Which I think is awful, regardless of colour.
  16. I know I mentioned it above, but realistically I don't think a C8 Corvette would ever happen. To my knowledge, Tamiya have never had a license to build GM product. Can't imagine they would suddenly do it now. A Mustang variant was brought up by someone else, and I think that is a real possibility. Maybe a different livery, or possibly a street version. Seeing as how they have a Ford license, as seen with the recent GT kit and the Mustang GT4; and considering that they have made SUV kits in the past, I think a Bronco could be within the realm of possibility. Really though, I think any new subject would most likely be of a Japanese vehicle, a Porsche, or a Ferrari.
  17. Well, both of those Revell Porsches will make their way into my stash for sure. I don't recall Revell doing those particular ones before; especially the Targa, so I wonder if they might be related to the older Fujimi kits. I think Revell and Fujimi have worked together in the past? Anyway, I'll be getting both. And the Lightning was cool too. I am not a F&F fan, but I do like the truck.
  18. I think the new Nissan Z is a little too new for a kit, but I think Tamiya will do that one eventually. A modern Porsche would be great to see. I'd be all over one of those. Blow some minds with a C8 Corvette. It would be interesting to see them do a new Ford Bronco. Personally, I would love to see some reissues of their old racing kits. The Mercedes DTM cars, the Volvo BTCC cars, etc.
  19. Like you said, it's a race car. And if you've seen a real race car up close, the paint is less than perfect to say the least! Having said that, yours looks pretty dang great. Nice and smooth, shiny. I get what you said about asking questions. I experienced the same thing on an overlanding forum when asking a question about some work I was going to do on my Tahoe. In a three page thread, two people were helpful, the rest told me why my idea and my methodology sucked and would never work. Somewhat recently, I've been watching and following a few builders on You Tube. Some are very precise and exacting. Others are a lot more "seat of the pants" builders and just sort of wing it. And the end results are excellent for all, even though one guy is messy and looks like he's "doing it wrong." Anyway, I'm digging the build.
  20. Pink Floyd are just about the only "60s" band I listen to. I like the early weird stuff with Syd. I like the 70s and 80s. I love The Division Bell. They toured here on The Division Bell tour and it ticked me off greatly that I couldn't get tickets. Mainly because it was the "cool" concert of the year and everyone was buying tix just to say they were there. Ugh.
  21. Yeah, I hate a messy bench. My is neat and tidy, but somehow stuff still disappears on occasion. Starting a kit with kind of detail would be a great excuse to go get some improved lighting and new cutting board! Hmm...
  22. Red Bull does a lot for motorsport, but this is ridiculous. I'm surprised that a company of Red Bull's size, with their public profile, would go ahead with something without proper permits or permissions.
