Great build! The color combo and pattern is very striking! Never had this kit, makes me want to reconsider! -

X2! First thing that came to mind was those old Peterbilt "Class" ads. -

My Moebius Pickup Kit Summary, all 11 of them!
leafsprings replied to hct728(Bob)'s topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
IMO, they did not. The hubcap looks accurate, same general design, but it is too small in diameter. Moebius put a downsized f250 hubcap on a 15 wheel in their earlier F 100 kits. The '68 should have 16" or 16.5 wheels 8 lug wheels and a larger diameter hubcaps to fit a larger rim. If not, they blew it again. -

Here is another photo for you. L 7000 V 12 models had wider fenders also. Neo does one in 1/64 diecast -

Eventually it will get the recently re issued 36 footer. Looks period correct for a 60's tractor. Will swap out the Daytons to Budds. More detailing work added to cab. -

Interior done, painted " sunlit sand", a goldish silver color, very close to factory color. Steering wheel is from an Astro. -

Yes, I plan on picking up a couple built as non turbo's for future builds, namely, another Frontier GMC B model and a Dan Models Ford N cab. -

Thanks for link, a non turbo 671 would make it a DBI7000. -

I agree, there's room for the factory optional 671 inline or 6v53 Detroits, but didn't have those engines. The frame widens in the front portion, which makes the engine look even more smaller. -
Have been working on this Frontier Resin piece, a early 60's GMC B model, while also building the Frontier Ford F 1000 at the same time. There were many variations of the B model according to power plants. DB7000's were diesels and B 7000's were V 12 gas. This will be a 478 V6 gas model in the 30K GVW range, which would make it a 6500 series. V6 is from Rookie Resin, with air compressor and pulley added. Wheels and tires are 12.00-22's from Dan Models. Needed the biggest tires to fill the large fenders!

I sure hope the '68 F 250 comes with 16.5 wheels and 16.5" tires or 16" 2 piece rims and 16" tires. Both with good commercial bias ply highway treads. 3 arm long camper special mirrors in chrome would be a nice option in kit also. -
1960s GMC Cabover
leafsprings replied to 1st 700 Quad's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I mentioned this GMC cab on my very first post on the Resin Wishlist thread. Sad AMT didn't cover it back it the day when the Ford tilt came out. IMO, there is a void in interest in covering it in resin is because it is believed people don't want to build this class of vehicle. I strongly disagree, -
IMO, it appears your order was caught in a transition Brian. Something happened to the original cab tooling. They should have notified you of the problem and allow you to cancel your order. Instead they slopped together a replacement that was not the same quality of the original. There still may be hope, retooling another cab takes time. Another issue may be a different business philosophy between Dan ( father ) and Cip ( son ). When I bought mine on ebay, they were sold by Dan models, now they are only sold by Cip models. I'm very happy with my F series and N series Ford cabs, they are equal to or may even be better than Modelhaus pieces, which are now very coveted pieces by collectors.

Finally in the paint shop! Will polish out when fully cured. Looks pretty close to 50's Esso's fleet colors. Still sanding the trailer, not bad, just takes extra time, luckily it does not need any pin hole filler, which is very nice. -
AMT Big Rig Semi Trailer
leafsprings replied to shoopdog's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice clean build! I'm assuming it's an older trailer from the 60's, probably would look even better behind an older era no frills fleet tractor!
