Hopefully you don't get a rear flat! ?Would have been cool it AMT gave up more build options back then, namely 4 stock 8 lug steel wheels with hubcaps and a wider rear wheel and rear tire option, but no, they gave up some funky variations thru out the run with custom grills, roll bars, side exhaust pipes and wide rear fenders and finally a 4x4 version that never existed in 1:1.

Great question, every previous pickup model ever made was a 1/2 ton with most popular bed of the era. Here is a '77 F 350 without the bottom and wheel opening moldings.

This was the subject of AMT's original 70's Ford pickup. It was an F 350 Super Camper Special. Correct stance with 9.50-16.5 front and 12-16.5 rear tires.

Too bad, it could pull 40' trailers in 50' states. Great job, excellent color choices, the 2 axles were very under represented from AMT, nice to see them being built.

I see a bright future for hobby kits to continue long past the pandemic if we continue to get the subjects we want to build. Many of us "car culture" people miss the vehicles we no longer see in everyday outdoor world, and the list keeps getting bigger everyday, and hobby kits or resin trans-kits help fill that void in the indoor world.

Excellent craftsmanship! Some of us a build just about anything without waiting for someone else to do it for us.

Great job with the custom innovations! Reminds me of so many repainted trucks I've seen, they don't bother painting the inside of hood or bed and never the same quality and durability of the original factory applied paint.

Finding more reference photos, headlight location looks like it will not be a problem for a higher '71 or '72 cab with older triangular front WF emblem and oval frontal air intake system. Added a few rivets. Colors will be black and white cab, black frame and orange wheels as shown in 1/87 scale athearn CME offering.

All the hard work is done, and done very well. Getting close to adding all the gingerbread! Luckily, AMT offered us kits in the early 70's that resemble trucks from the 60's, my favorite era.

Still a mystery, what size stock wheels will we be getting? Back in the '68-'72 era, there were only 2 choices for F 250's, the 2 piece 16" wheel and the 1 piece 16.5" wheel.

You must mean the new '68 F 250! Me too! I want to see the tires, wheels and hubcaps in particular. All three should be larger than previous offerings. A grill shot would be nice too!

The engine is for sure new tooling, a 351M, or could be a 400 too, same engine family which were new for '77. Another good upgrade for the '77+ F 350 Super Camper Special's or the Super Stone version.

Thanks for posting the box cover and instructions. Hard to tell how accurate the standard Bronco steering wheel is, is it the "new for '78" squared off center style or the incorrect carryover '71-'77 smooth center ?

I agree, an original sin, the door should have been emblemless, a separate chrome emblem would have been more appropriate. I guess we can sand off and put in a Moebius Ford pickup emblem in there. Aftermarket resin people could kick in a produce a '57 emblem, '58-'60 emblem, '61-'62 emblem, '63-'67 emblem, and while there at it, wider front fenders extensions for the '74-'90 versions and Ford oval between headlights. With all the C series kits out there, I believe there is a strong market for these pieces.

The Bronco would provide us with upgrade parts for the '78 Super Stones pickup kit.

1962 Peterbilt 281 in 1/43. Very nice quality and very accurate details. The Budd wheels on the tractor a perfect, unlike diecast truck Budd wheels of the past. Peterbilt guru's will think it's a 351 due to its dual drive, but it is actually a single drive with a tag axle, so 281 would be correct.

Looks great, glad you sanded off that eye sore cab molding. Looks like a surplus ex Navy truck, the government bought a lot of those base model Flaresides in the 60's.

Fantastic job! The engineering on this one looks like it was done by official blueprints. Really like the fleet truck look of the Autocar, very little chrome.

If I saw this photo, and wasn't told it was a model, I'd swear I was looking at the real thing! Fantastic job, all your attention to factory details, not to mention all the fabrication of working parts, will put this build into the "Haul of Fame".
