  1. X2! Much more needs to be done to get it closer to the '68-'72 to get my money!
  2. Kenworth is a great choice for a Pacific Northwest logger! Like the additions! The AMT logger trailer wheels are nice and were a very common wheel back in the day, but it appears, IMO, the AMT molds sank in between each hand hole. Nothing a little putty can't fix.
  3. Great job. Color combo was a popular one for this era pickup! Very accurate detail work!
  4. That long 1 ton frame is nice and sorely needed! This kit could be a donor to a Dodge or Chevy or earlier Ford ramp truck with a front suspension change!
  5. Great looking Transtar! Looks exactly like the way IH would have built it at their assembly plants back in the day!
  6. Looks great. Nice detail work with the old 5 - 10 lug system! Narrow tires look very period era.
  7. '63-'66 C80's got the wider front fenders when ordered with the 11K front axle. Earlier '60-'62 C50-80's all came with the wider front fenders. Unfortunately, Modelhaus never covered the '60-'62 2 ton.
  8. If you want to fabricate, here is a good write up. 359 long hood album | Mackinac359 | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.
  9. Thanks Brian. Under glass pretty soon, still needs the fifth wheel and mudflaps. Will be using period Ford "crest" flaps.
  10. Great color coordination between the cab, frame and wheels. Looks fantastic! These Transtar kits are quickly becoming stars on this forum!
  11. Thankyou guys! A few more details and it will completed!
  12. Thankyou Dan, trying to make it look authentic, getting very close to completion ( tractor part)
  13. Fantastic job on the 4070. Great color and wheel choice! What color paint is that?
  14. I understand exactly. I said the same thing about the modelhaus Chevy 2 ton. There was a heavier duty version with the wider fenders like this photo. I'm in on sharing the expense for new subjects.
  15. Fireball stuff is top notch. His 16.5" 8 lug wheels and hubcaps are excellent! The 4x4 front wheels could be modified to regular 2WD front hubs, but he does not offer highway tread 16.5" tires yet. I contacted him about the highway tread tires, he said he plans to do them in the future.
  16. First, I'm glad Moebius is doing the '68 and will purchase anyway. Assuming all were going to get is a new grill and leftover wheels, tires and hubcaps from older kits. This is what Fireball package would look like. From left to right. Spicer 60 rear axle, 3 arm camper special mirrors, camper special emblems, 390 emblem, F 250 hubcaps, and 8.75X 16.5 or 9.50x16.5 highway tread tires and 16.5 8 lug wheels.
  17. Fireball just might have to come up with a nice upgrade for this kit.
  18. I agree, there would be a market for the GMC and many other ignored subjects ( see my " Resin Wishlist" thread for an idea ) now that there are plenty affordable AMT re issues available for donor chassis. I wouldn't make this claim a few years back when original AMT kits were very pricey. I have bought many nice resin pieces from AITM, Motor City, Modelhaus ( no longer ) , etc. and plan on purchasing a couple of Repstock's mid 70's Dodge D 700 when they become available too!
  19. Great subject, will be following the transformation!
  20. Not sure of what GVW package the L 700 kit represents, but, the heavy duty 27.5K version with the 413 and 11k front and 18.5K rear axles with full air is rated for 50K combined weight. I think your good to go!
  21. A visual of what I'm looking for in this kit!
  22. Looks Great! The paint scheme really brings out the lines and curves of this classic cabover! The red Detroit looks like it just left IH assembly line.
  23. Great build of a great kit! IMO, the factory IH paint schemes are a must for these old Ertl kits, and this one proves it can't get any better than this, the ultimate look!
