  1. This is precisely why all my builds are fresh off the assembly line.
  2. The 429, introduced in 1969 cars, is in the same engine family as the 460. Wonder if there are any car kits with the 429? Here is a "cutaway" chassis photo.
  3. The sign of a great model, undetectable from 1:1. This one passes the test! Great subject matter and great fabrication work!
  4. Agreed, and to back up this claim, some literature from the early 60's
  5. Thanks for all the previous comments. Appreciated. Update, decided to go with Alcoa's all the way around. Hard to believe, but this 351 has over $150.00 worth of gingerbread added to the California Hauler kit.
  6. Great idea! Looks like a winner!
  7. Wow, in 2071, if the trend continues you'll need to make about $10,000 a week to afford a $300 a piece kit.
  8. One? You'll need to buy 2 kits to build that one! Side note, Round 2, is it too late to change the door side emblems to 900 once and for all?
  9. Probably wasn't a good idea to put that 5 bucks under the mattress in 1971.
  10. I'm ready for a good set of 20" or 22" lock ring Budds. The ALF Budds were a disappointment. The front wheel was practically flat, no off set, and the rear hand hole design was too long and narrow, not D shaped. These will make me happy!
  11. Excellent craftsmanship. This vintage trailer will look great behind your vintage KW.
  12. Did these engines fit a standard conv. hood or did you need the long hood version?
  13. Unknown manufacturer, body appears to be fairly close to the cab, wheelbase seems to be right for the size body. What they use for box art will be interesting.
  14. We can hope the aftermarket resin people kick in and offer some items to back or forward date the C cab. Example would be door emblems for '57-'67, and wider front fenders for '74-90. Maybe some "Super Duty" emblems '60-'69 too! Rooke Resins? I believe there is a photo etch already available for the cab. This is a good sign we are getting new tooling of a subject that was never done before, the future may bring us more new tooling if these sell well. Tow truck body? Grain body?
  15. Beautiful job, color combo looks great. Yes, AMT really stretched reality on the later versions. Originally it was an F 350 1 ton Super Camper Special with extra long wheelbase. This long wheelbase model only came in 2WD. Other problems with the kit is the lower molding was no longer used on '77-'79 versions and steering wheel design changed for '78
  16. X2! Very impressive work. Only critique on this build is the side molding, a little to fancy for a work truck.
  17. What makes medium duty trucks so cool is the variety of bodies associated with them vs. class 8 trucks which are mainly all tractors, however, the top of the line D 800 with a 413 and 133" WB. would make a nice local 2 axle tractor.
  18. Yes, the Ford tilt cab has been around for a long time, both in real life and in kit form, but we are one step closer to a future GMC tilt cab. A heavy duty tilt cab is the most logical choice for any inner city trash truck.
  19. Great news! Nice to see new tooling.
  20. Nothing wrong with a retrofit! The dually body actually looks better than the single wheel stretched wheelbase pickup box. Will be following this one.
  21. Very nice work on the conversion. There are so many ways to improve on the standard AMT kit.
  22. Excellent job on this underrated kit! Looks super clean and nicely detailed. The white roof looks spot on for the period.
  23. Great job on the IH. Nice paint work, looks so much better than scheme used for the box art! The Ford is off to a great start too. IMO, the longer front end and longer frame instantly transforms Louisville into a serious rig! Plenty of room now for a 350 Cummins.
  24. Right! How did they miss the pointed hood, bumper and headlight eyebrows, the key features of the Nova?.
