'68-72 Chevy PickUp rummors about reissue?
leafsprings replied to Sergey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The Wedge and the Camper both suffer from an incorrect wheelbase, pass on both. I'd rather see a fresh 3d printed standard pickup camper that fits a regular 8' bed! This one is a little too big IMO, but you get the idea. -
Moebius Dodge pickup in the works?
leafsprings replied to leafsprings's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Right, the '72 Chevy coke version is now out, and really doubt anyone is going to invest anymore in this series. That leaves us with the 61-71 Dodge ( a whopping 10 years of this cab style) as the only holdout never done by big plastic. I'm sure insiders in the hobby know if the Dodge is secretly being developed as we speak. -

The 50's trailer is available from Keystone Keystone Aluminum Model Miniatures 1/25 scale model truck parts Ronks (kamodelminis.com) Lots of great stuff. We really need to support these types of businesses if we want to get more of the stuff were looking for. It appears to be a 3D printed deal and will need some sanding. The trailer comes in 2 pieces and has some wood dowels to align and connect together. -

38' Dump Trailer
leafsprings replied to kilrathy10's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The custom frame and body work are very impressive, hard to believe it originated with the MPC kit! The newer more modern look of trailer matches the modern tractor perfectly! -
For those who are into the custom 1 ton truck look, a set of chromed 8 lug dually's would look sharp on this new ramp truck. This is a complete big rig tire and wheel set by Fujimi in 1/32 that will work for 1/25 1 tons. Dechromed a set and painted black for the work truck look, before 1/25 1 ton wheels became available in resin.

1968 Dodge D800
leafsprings replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very impressive build! Looks like a ex. Dept. of Forestry dump, has a very capable and heavy duty look. When these style Dodge cabs become readily available, it will be on my buy list. -
The early 50's Chevy 216 is very similar to the Ford 215, the AMT '51 Chevy maybe the best donor. ( valve cover bolts on top ) AMT 1/25 1951 Chevy Straight Six Cylinder Engine& Manual Trans Parts Lot | eBay

Kitchen Table Resins used to offer it, but like so many, no longer available.Ford 223 OHV 6 Resin Kit album | Ken Kitchen | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy. The 215 was the original version introduced in '52, got punched out to 223 in '54 and used up to '64. 262 was the truck only version.

The extended long 1 ton frame is a first, will buy for that reason alone! Id rather see this photo for the box art, not to mention, change F 150 to F 350.

'68-72 Chevy PickUp rummors about reissue?
leafsprings replied to Sergey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I agree with John, don't expect a completely new pickup kit, we need to use our imagination and skills to make up for the short comings. The 1:1 '67-'72 2wd chassis is almost identical to the 1:1 '63-'66 2WD chassis. Revell does the '65 pickup in 1/25 with a separate front and rear suspension, so, Bingo, we can use the '65 chassis. AMT does a 4WD Blazer- Jimmy in 1/25, it also has a separate frame with the same 4WD system used in pickups. It is a matter of kit bashing and frame lengthening for now to get these kits closer to what we want them to be. -

Nice work, like the period wheels on this classic west coast Mack. Ready to pull some double flats! -

I'd rather see the standard hubcaps in the box. But nothing new, big plastic had a history of giving us " full wheel covers " for the " stock " version. Glad I purchased an extra set a accurately done hubcaps from Rookie Resin! -

BRBO 2021 GMC Crackerbox car hauler.

The classic Jimmy and trailer combo look great, perfect match! The boxy looking cabovers of the 60's have a unique look, this build inspired me to tackle one soon. -

Thanks for the comments, went for the deluxe "California Hauler" look for '62. Couple of more shots with and without sleeper.
