  1. Sweet! Glad you found the one that is right for you.
  2. Not sure about Gravity Paint but some of the paint companies mix the paint to order so they keep very little stock. Some do it in house and others farm it out to other companies. I believe that is why most companies take several weeks to get the product delivered. I use MCW paint and have never received any correspondence what so ever. I mail them a check and several weeks later they mail me paint and another blank order form. I usually buy paint for 3 or 4 projects at once. I do not need to be informed of every step my order is going through. I do expect a response if for some reason I call or email.
  3. Not sure why it happens, but I do try to delete them when I see them. If it happens, you can hide one of them and I will delete it if I see it. The only double post I got was my own fault, I clicked again before it was done thinking the first time.
  4. I will defend sellers (just a little). There is a glitch (or purposeful shady code) in how eBay calculates some shipping costs. When I sell, I put in the weight and box dimensions. Folks on the West Coast, I am on the East, were regularly accusing me of outrageous shipping costs. eBay was quoting them well over $30 for shipping a single 1/25 scale kit. When I would plug in the exact information directly to the USPS site the cost was closer to $15. They are using weight and dimensions when calculating postage, so you are also penalized for using an oversize box and shipping safely.
  5. Have purchased from him several times, always happy. Plan to buy again in the future.
  6. Detail Master also has PE speaker grills, in several styles. Not sure about the actual speakers.
  7. Nicely done JC! How long did it take for your heart to restart after the car hit the floor?
  8. Joking around about the volunteers that are helping out on this board does not help. What helps is posting the actual problems you are having. I have asked the administrator, Dave Ambrose, if he knows when he will update software.
  9. Could you possibly get a sheet of aluminum or brass and form it to the shape you need.
  10. Not sure how to resize on a Mac. Does it have something similar to Paint? In Paint - Open your photo, select resize, click pixels, select width or height and type in 100. Looks like 100 pixels is the max height and width (without having to scale or crop when you import it into the forum). 0.24mb is maximum file size.
  11. Both the physical size (pixel width and height) and file size (mb) are limited. I don't have access to the settings, but the site definitely lets you know when you have it wrong and I think it then lets you know the limits.
  12. Well, it seems to be variable. What is listed under my profile is now lower than it was. Mine says .17mb, but I know it was at least .24mb in the past. To check, go to your profile, click on your profile photo (or the generic place holder) and you will see the options available to you. It also lists the acceptable file types.
  13. Profile photos are handled differently than regular photos posted to the site. You profile photo is basically a thumbnail photo and is very limited on physical size as well as size of the file. You can use Paint or any number of photo editors to resize a photo to the acceptable size.
  14. WWII warbirds are far and away my favorites. I briefly entertained the idea of learning to fly, just so I could (hopefully) fly one. Then I found out how expensive they are to purchase, and to maintain. Decided it would be cheaper to visit a few airshows and build R/C versions. I have a few models that I have squirreled away that I will eventually get to.
  15. Great idea, well executed. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Looking good! I have some figures for my train layout (if I ever get it finished) that I will eventually try to paint.
  17. Looks like $30-35 on Amazon.
  18. On the older BDS type blowers, like these, the belt is usually run as you have them. On the newer systems, with serpentine belts, it would more than likely be on the inside of the tensioner. Looking forward to seeing this model progress.
  19. I see primer anytime a polishing cloth gets to close to something I painted. I use the "Wing and a Prayer" painting method.
  20. Looks like it is going to be a fine workbench. Nice to be able to add a few things you may have wished you had with the old one.
  21. On this board, it leads to an argument. In most cases it comes across as antagonistic, whether intended or not. Doesn't matter what we are talking about. Why not just say you do not like it and explain why or provide an alternative choice and explain how it is better. In this case, if you go back and read from the beginning, the thread started downhill as soon as the putty was called junk. Up to that point it was pretty much unanimous that this stuff is good for small fills and to be avoided for larger work. There was no absolute praise for the product, just a use with caution attitude.
  22. Bob, I have no idea why you jumped in and turned this into personal attacks because someone disagrees with your point of view on this. That is totally uncalled for. None of us need to call a product junk or garbage. If you have a different product that you like just say what it is and explain why you feel it is better. The OP asked for opinions on this and he got some well thought out responses with examples. As with any product we use, there will be those that love it, those that hate and those that don't care. The general consensus is that it is OK for small repairs because it will shrink.
  23. In the case of the Porsche engine, I can see why about 90% of the parts were needed. They definitely are needed to aid installation. The other 10% could have been molded onto other parts. So in this case, Porsche is to blame for most of it. Hard to get the engine and drivetrain into that tiny space otherwise.
