  1. "What Irked Me Today?" Not having enough hours in the day to what I need to do, and want to do! LoL
  2. Mean looking Chevelle! Newport, TN, eh? My ancestors are from that area.
  3. In my opinion, and from past experience, the only way to achieve a good paint job is to start by stripping off the bad paint job. I use Super Clean to strip my projects, and it has given me good results. I think it's best to start with freshly cleaned model parts.
  4. Walmart in Lawrenceburg TN has a nice selection of Round 2 kits. First time in several years for this particular store.
  5. T The Charger was painted with TESTORS spray can enamels, and masked with Tamiya tape and blue painter's tape. No problems. The blue pickup was painted with Extreme Lacquer spray can paint and masked with Tamiya tape. No problems. The '49 Mercury was painted with Tamiya spray cans, and masked with Tamiya tape. Again, no problems. The Nova wagon was painted with Krylon spray paint, and masked with blue painter's tape using the "torn edge" effect on the tape. This one is still in progress.
  6. On the Proboards forums that have a "like" button installed, you can see who "liked" your post. A lot of times, I use the "like" button to help keep up with what I have read.
  7. with dead batteries
  8. Very interesting project. Glad I found it! Carry on.
  9. Great build! Attention getting color, and a set-up that should give it a highly unfair advantage on the streets, or the strip! Well done!
  10. Yep! Looks about right, I'd say!!
  11. Back in the 80's, and earlier, TESTORS orange tube glue made for a handy gap filler! Hahaha
  12. 727
  13. 35 15/16
  14. M......MOPAR!
  15. 8(days a week)
  16. I forget what year it was, but I was buying discounted Jo-Han kits from a Woolworth store in Nashville for under $5.00 a kit at the rate of about four or five a week. All the kit boxes had a tiny "Seville" sticker pasted on them. I only bought the subject I was interested in at the time. Had I known Jo-Han was on the brink, I might have tried to purchase them all for under 5 bucks a kit!!
  17. That's a nice, rich color for the Mercury body. I like it. I used blue and green on the last '49 I built. This is quite different. I think I like it better!
  18. "1 is the loneliest number"
  19. These are the only pics I have of the interior in the one I built many years ago. I'm pretty sure I used a TESTORS flat dark red. Back then, TESTORS was all I used on anything. The exterior was TESTORS Gloss Black from the spray can, with no clearcoat. I got lucky on this one.
  20. Carrie Fisher with her rocket launcher?? Then we would need a '77 Pontiac Grand Prix for the diorama! LoL
  21. Z......is for ZANY!!

    Chevord

Amazing how well those different sections work together! Got any more of these creations up your sleeves?
  23. Needs an 8 track cartridge laying on the transmission hump, with a string of twisted up tape leading up to the player! HAHAHA
  24. Absolutely stunning! Two great craftsmen at work, here. Amazing results!
  25. Beautiful!! Now....it just needs a self-rotating base, tilted on about a 17 1/2 degree angle...... just until you're ready to install it in the body. Then, you could shoot a video for us to drool over while you tinker with the other parts! LoL
