There is also the case where the kit makers "jump the gun". Two examples come to mind....the MPC 1976 Plymouth RoadRunner kit is based on the B body Fury, which Plymouth did not offer for 1976. The other is the JoHan 1968 AMC Ambassador convertible kit, based on a car that AMC did not offer. So, both of these kits are entirely inaccurate!

I believe they would sell well, too. I recently sold five MPC/REVELL/Monogram square body pickup, Blazer, and Van kits for $200.00 on eBay with buyers doing some crazy bidding on them. I also sold a STOMPER Blazer kit, with the Mud Buggy for nearly $130. I was surprised, to say the least! The '57 Chevy BelAir kits I listed didn't do so well. Trucks are where it's at, right now!!

I own a '68 Imperial Crown convertible. It weighs about 5000 pounds. It rides on the factory stock 15" wheels that came on it. Floats like a cloud! I pulled into a gas station one day, and a young dude in a rice rocket yelled out, "Hey...put some 22's on it!" That'll be the day!! The only reason my 2017 300, and 2008 Ram 1500 have 20" wheels is because that's what came on the vehicles. Neither one of them ride as good as the old Imperial!

I'd be interested in seeing some production figures on the kits that have been released in the last five years.

I'd like to see a double dashboard version, like the Driver's Education classes used. My class in High School had a 1973 FORD LTD with two steering wheels, and an extra set of pedals!

Some days mine are nearly non-existent. Other times they look as big as a dark rain cloud.

I have two 1960 rebuilders, and plan to use the '59 kit as a donor to try to get a good '60 out of the lot.

Not sure when they were made, but the year model should be '71-'72. There were three issues I know of...Rolling Thunder...Heavy Pedal...Chevy Step Side.

Yeah, I just last week unloaded four '57 Chevy kits on eBay, but I'm keeping my Mercury stuff.

I recently received my last SA issue, and just got my first FS a couple days ago. I'll hold my opinion on FS until the next issue comes out.

With this being a newly tooled body, maybe a future release will be a race team set, with either the Boss Nova, or Ratpacker Nova.

I'd choose one of these over a '57 Chevy kit. Or a Camaro...or a Mustang...

I use the Tamiya tape on all the hard edges on my two-tone paint jobs, too.

I was pretty sternly reprimanded by Jim Haught one time for merely posting my opinion in somebody else's thread. After that, I did more lurking than posting. I wonder how many others have done the same thing?
