  1. Very nicely done! Excellence detailing under-hood. A great looking MOPAR.
  2. A very neat & clean build. I don't think the tail lights look too bad. Remember, they were in reality a "little naked”. The paint looks very nice. I'm preparing to do a car in Tamiya's "Pearl White". What did you use as a primer? I'm still trying what to shoot under my Pearl White to give the best result.
  3. Gotta love those little cars. The Cragars look nice on there.
  4. The fact is that years ago if you wanted real, true, high quality photos you pretty much had to learn quite a bit about photography and invest in a really good camera, along with a lot of accessories. Today there are dozens of cameras available under a hundred bucks that can take really outstanding photos. And yes, although I hate to admit it, lots of the new phones take pretty good photos too.
  5. I understand that perfectly! I still have several kits on my "want list" and they are still on there for just that reason. I don't want to rip anybody off, just enjoy finding bargains.
  6. Sorry to read about the limited production. That does nothing for the hobby and nothing for the manufacturer's reputation.
  7. Regardless of the bickering, I'm pleased as punch to see the Deuce gasser, and the Golden Commandos & California Flash kits. I'll eventually have a minimum of one each and I for certain see a Deuce gasser as well as a street freak build. Many thanks to Tim Boyd for sharing this info. Maybe some of you with nothing more to do than bicker might consider showing Tim a little well deserved appreciation. I just can't believe some of you choose to bicker on a thread like this or choose to criticize the new releases before you get your hands on a finished product. Yeah, I'm new to the hobby and I probably know less about this hobby and/or the kits than just about all of you, but I know enough to appreciate Tim's effort and I know I'll wait until these kits are finished and in the hands of builders before I pass judgement. Sorry. Another of my little rants. Just felt it needed said.
  8. One thing to keep in mind when trying to use "Landscape" and then zooming in is that you need plenty of light. The best way to provide light without getting bright spots on the model is to place the model on a table in the corner of the room, then shine lights on the walls behind the model, not directly on it.
  9. A whole lot of very impressive work. Nice job!
  10. Looking good.
  11. This build raises questions. Like, "Why not?" and "What if?" Keep those photos coming. This could be sweet.
  12. I've already got a couple '58 Edsel kits, but I'll probably pick up one of the new release kits too. I like Edsels.
  13. Looks great.
  14. Snagged this in a private transaction with another builder. Tickled pink to get it.
  15. Finally have the Kilz all on in our master bathroom. It's been a long road to get to this point. Knowing that the painting will all be done in that room by the end of the week sure enough puts a smile on my face.
  16. Welcome!
  17. My sentiments exactly. I can't use foil myself so was tickled pink when I found out about using Sharpies. I've been practicing with them and I think I've got it down pat now. I have to try different ways of doing things since I have loss of use in my right hand. Sharpies work much better than foil for me. Any type of tutorial on the Sharpies would be greatly appreciated, for sure. Jack, one final note. If you aren't familiar with them, check out the new Molotow Chrome Pens. Kinda like a Sharpie, but with real chrome in them. It's a little different technique, but one you should be able to master.
  18. Very nice for a snap kit. Came out very neat and clean looking. 2 thumbs up!
  19. A Road Runner and a can of Lime Ice spray paint. Yep, I'll follow along!
  20. Very nicely done. Love that engine compartment.
  21. Well said, Alan. You're 100% correct. I also never understood why the '67 to '70 Cougars aren't more common. They were really great little Pony Cars. Just look at this beautiful blue example. What's not to love about that?
  22. To answer your question as to how I know what's on Facebook, I have friends and family that have a smart phone surgically attached to the end of one arm and Facebook is usually running live on it. They just love to share all that totally useless BS with me when we're together. As to having someone, or some means, to police all the sales transactions, I'd just as soon not have anybody looking over my shoulder. I'm a big boy now and wear my big boy pants pretty much every day. Have I been burnt on eBay? Yep, just happened a couple weeks ago. Did I lose any sleep over it? Nope, not one wink lost. Just because a vendor, or another fellow builder, lists items for sale on any particular website doesn't mean I would attempt to hold the website responsible. If I do get ripped off I have the option and capability off posting that info on the forum to let fellow builders know about it. It's no one elses place to be a "big brother" to me, not here, not elsewhere on the 'Net, and not out in the real world. That's part of our problem today. Too many people want somebody else to be responsible if they are offended, harmed, or wronged in some way. Geeezz, it's just a listing of people and places with products for sale. It's not murder for hire. Sorry. I got long winded again.
  23. x2. Not sure I could have said that any better.
  24. Finally got a good deal on this kit. Not exactly what you'd consider a "holy grail" item, but it was at the top of my "want list".
