Glad you were able to whip it back out (in private, of course)...those overly huge wheel arches are the worst part of these kits. Nice correction, carry on... -RRR -

Attention turns to the front suspension today. Crossmember fabbed up....suspension is the I-beam axle from the Revell Model A series. The spring was cut off of the top of the axle, narrowed a tad and attached to the split bones, suicide style...friction shocks will be used...thanks for looking... -RRR -
I like it!!! We need more projects and outcomes like this around here...-RRR

Lowering the 66 AMT Pro Street Nova
Rocking Rodney Rat replied to rbarton's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yeah, I get it to some extent. As I always say about building in scale: "It doesn't have to work, it just has to LOOK like it does." But a rubbery rear axle is taking it to the extreme!!! -RRR -

Kit Karson's '33 3hree Window Coupe
Rocking Rodney Rat replied to Kit Karson's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Perfect. As we talked about, you do need to re-arch those rear wheel wells. Keep on plugging away at it. You might get this done by the end of the century at this rate!!! -RRR -

Rocking Rodney Rat replied to Rocking Rodney Rat's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Slow going down here as well... Attention turns to the front end now. I have been massaging the front rails (fortunately this grey plastic AMT uses is pretty pliable) to get them unkinked in order to figure where to put the front xmember.... a skim coat of squadron green to smooth out the inside of the rails...I cut out a paper pattern for the hood sides...quick mockup... -RRR -

Notice that the original Parts Pack has the block hugger headers while the later versions have the zoomie style headers to accommodate the use of this mill with the Mooneyes dragster parts pack....
