  1. Seems that Hasegawa is obsessed with "chrome" window trim and defroster decals. That could make a cool drifter.
  2. To say I'm lucky is an understatement, it was part of a collection, because it was opened and the body painted, it was FREE! All parts included. I am stripping the paint with brake fluid now. The MPC kit looks more accurate. Makes me wonder if IMC guessed at the design, much like the first Stealth fighter jet kits. The radiators are in "normal" position, the nose below the headlights protrude out, carb has a box which is logical, spare mounted on the chassis, and the most obvious is the intakes instead of scoops. But the most glaring and very important detail missing, no Le Mans mandated suitcases!
  3. That must have been fun at the time! Curbside, so that's one reason it got finished. LOL
  4. Could have fooled me that you haven't been building, nice job! I'm sure everyone else is wondering, how many kits have you stashed in 3.5 decades?
  5. Very nice job!
  6. So several kits for yours, I can't tell! I see you mounted the spare tire on the chassis, that makes more sense than the body. Interesting how obscure this model is, and that will be great for doing Box Stock, I'll never finish if I start detailing it. I'm also lucky the decals look good. Thank you for posting pictures, that really helps very much.
  7. Thank you. Yes, to say the least.
  8. I got an IMC kit of the Ford GTP J-car from an estate. It was started by the previous owner, so it's no longer a collectible kit. I'm warming up to it, like I have adopted a mutt that is too cute. The instructions have ZERO reference for colors, and the parts aren't even numbered which cracks me up, but I can figure that out. So I wonder if any Ford race car experts can tell me the colors of: 1. Engine/transmission (box art shows what looks like gold) 2. Brake calipers (gold?) 3. Exhaust pipes (green, really?) 4. Interior seats and door panels (black) 5. Chassis tub (I'm guessing bare aluminum) 6. Steering wheel (wood rim?) 7. Shocks (chrome parts, the inside tube part) Far as I can tell, this is a prototype version, has added on scoops on the sides, the front does not have the pointy projections like the Hot Wheels car. I'm tempted to modify the headlights with clear lenses, and some openings with screens, but then it would not qualify for Box Stock at contests, so debating....
  9. This is like torture, waiting for this to be released. I see there are decals for the Bobby Unser, Pikes Peak car.
  10. Wanting information about a Carousel (brand I have never heard of) Lotus 38 Indy race car, 1/18 scale (weird scale for me). Met someone whose dad recently died, member of the model club let us know he had a collection. I have not seen it yet. From my search on eBay, it seems to be rare and expensive, holy cow! I told them it's the holy grail of the collection, I'm not taking advantage of them to steal it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Race-Car-1960s-Lotus-Ford-Indy-500-Jim-Clark-F-1-18-Midget-Racer-Carousel/302706393139?hash=item467ab50033:g:NikAAOSwUEVYC71O
  11. Fun topic thread. What Singer is doing to 911s is really amazing. This is my 930 Slantnose Speedster Turbo.
  12. I should watch this project, since I've built a few Porsches, and have two on the bench at the moment.
  13. Sage advice! I tried for the first time this year, sold a set of wheels was it.
  14. When I searched before posting, there is another thread explaining that. Daddyfink posted the correct kit, thanks.
  15. Love it! Thanks for making it dirty too, just isn't a rally car if it's clean.
  16. Box art dated 1979, kit # 1-3072. It's the silver factory stock version.
