  1. The Drive: A $142M Mercedes-Benz Might Now Be the World’s Most Expensive Car Hmmm..... now I want to get the Revell kit. ?
  2. I'm losing it...... forgot why I left a comment on this topic, now I know. I was dumb luck that I searched eBay one night, and found this for sale by a vendor who must not have known how rare these are. After getting it, think I know why it didn't last longer than initial production. I'm bummed the seats are missing, but that wouldn't be impossible to fabricate. So nix this from the ghost category.
  3. Since I have a source for buying new kits near wholesale cost, got these. Didn't know I wanted a London taxi, but imagine the possibilities. Disappointed about picking the wheel set, will sell or trade those. Even though I'm a bit turned off with the latest exotics, I like the Senna for some reason.
  4. I like it! HOONIGAN, Ken Block ran a 911 in Africa this year. You should post in the Porsche Outlaws thread. ?
  5. Just the body will be a challenge, ignoring the mods. Thanks for dropping by. Thank you, I can't wait either. ? I searched for pictures of the engine, surprised how popular the F20C engine is for stuffing into other cars. For now, getting the chassis together is the goal. Tonight I figured out one side for the brakes and wheels. Removed most of the wheel posts, and drilled the holes far as I dared. Removed 2-3 MM from the back of the rims. I don't care about the wheels rolling (just what I need is it rolling off the table when it's done), might not use the screws for the front wheels. Can't really see the disks, so good enough for gubmint work. I have Splash blue paint that was used on my GSL VW Beetle, but I also have Boyds turquoise to use, so that's what I've been thinking about for color.
  6. rolling downhill, bouncing
  7. I just got a body, so signing up for this class.
  8. It took only how many years to figure this out? What I want to know, did they ever build any bridge over that busy road?
  9. Real 190SL "hot rods". I'm digging the bumper-less look.
  10. While doing research for my 190SL build, saw these renderings.
  11. Wishing a strong and quick recovery for him!
  12. The good ol' days, when one had a chance of finishing a model. Thanks, you have a great head start. Thanks. I might use .02" styrene. Thank you. Who knows, I might flare the back fenders like a 427 Cobra. Bummer! Not much progress tonight. Dry assembled the interior, don't see why this procedure won't work. Marked the location where the air cleaner would go, that will be removed, and am thinking of locating the battery to the trunk. All the trunk is, what you see now, with a spare tire. Needs a nitrous bottle, I think. Instructions, check out the procedure for assembly, there is no way! One of the issues, at each pin location on the body, there is a divot that will require putty. Next aftermarket detail, the disk brakes. I managed to find a scavenged electronic part, a shaft with a screw at the end, almost perfect size to mount the disk, then chuck in the cordless drill, and use sanding sticks to turn those puppies. The wheels came with screws for the front, so I should modify those hubs. I always remove the lip on the back of the wheels, and expect to cut down the axles a ways down (sounds so non mechanic, like I'm winging it, which I am). I know those disks don't have giant calipers that have a large swept area (resin parts on the tape), but the wheel centers will cover that up.
  13. Nice! I've thought about doing a diorama of this, Twin Arrows. One fell down a few months ago, history disappearing. Anyway, enough about me, get to work and finish that! ?️
  14. People have been cleaning up their yards, must get tired of people wanting to buy whatever, so it's not like Utah. This is on an old alignment of Route 66 (I-40 is across the meadow). Anyway, I've hijacked this thread enough, back to the regularly scheduled program.
  15. Same with my dad, have pictures of 5 vehicles he owned that were blue. Red is over-rated. My '68 Chevy pickup is blue too. It's cool your resurrected this model, look forward to the finished product.
  16. I watched another video of that, so will skip orchestra conductor. The rise up air dam is a strange feature, sort of wrecks the clean lines.
  17. But it's not RED! ? Seriously, this ad was below your post tonight: I like the wheels, shows the disk brakes off. For some reason just about every project I tackle is out my comfort zone, exception are end-of-year OOB slap together builds.
  18. I'm always looking in yards when driving through rural areas, especially Utah. When traveling with the girlfriend, it annoyed her when I had to U-turn to take pictures. You miss such things when on the Super Slab.
  19. This is more bizarre than anything, creative litterbug. On my walk at "the field" this evening, I stopped to look at a rock just off the trail, for possible use in my yard (in 37 years probably moved a ton). Picked it up to evaluate it, and found a scrunched plastic water bottle under it! I was "what the ****?" Of the millions of rocks out there, I pick this one up and find somewhat fresh trash (no sign of getting wet). The person just couldn't carry it all the way back home. Checked for money or a key, nothing. Should I go buy a lottery ticket? ? Sunset was okay.
