Thank you. The kit has opening doors, really loose hinge. Thank you everyone who left a comment, I 'like' your comments.

Thanks for that comment. The Southwest is brutal on everything, especially rubber and plastic. This truck is in Albuquerque. I'm fascinated what derelicts in the Northwest look like, moss and lichen grow on the rust, which would be fun to try with railroad scenic stuff.

I'm glad you started this topic! On Fakebook someone has posted really wrecked cars, fairly convincing but it's not an easy task. All I can think of, is pushing thick aluminum foil on the body, then wadding it up.

Very cool to help out our friend. ? I should have thought of this, the Prescott Antique Auto Club has guys with hit & miss engines, the annual car show has a section with many who show them.

Thank you for the clarification. Bet there are no videos from that time. ?

You have done a great job on those! I haven't really done rust-through, just surface. Must be because I live in Arizona.

You know, just because I don't know what you're talking about, I have to make a special rule just for this topic, must post a video. ?

I played slushpump to the last day of High School. I loved doing that, was pretty good at it too. Thanks for the comments everyone. ?

This ad was on the forum, for those who had ad-blockers, look at what you're missing. ? Wonder if the VW flat 4 is an option?

That's one way to avoid having to do exactly the correct size plug wires. Love the weathering, I've done the salt technique, it's fun to intentionally screw up a paint job. The detail in the transmission looks great. My first derelict looks better in this diorama, saw others suggest ideas.

I saw Mike C's before yours, great to see another one that was finished. Clean build, and you got a nice flat sheen on the plastic tires. I should drag out this long dead WIP and finish it.
-
Very nice build! I've used Splash paints, but I have a tendency to melt, do you make many quick mist coats? You do more than one color coat? The LED lights add to the simple build. I've gone to extreme effort to add engines to curbside kits, and doomed not finishing them. What do you use for the red on taillights? BTW: I'm on my third real Civic, so of course I'm a fan. ?

Good to see someone who finished one of these kits! You did a fine job, like the red line on the wheels, and color choice with masking of the yellow. I got over my head years ago on this project. ?

GSL Common Kit: [revision] just another Model A Roadster
89AKurt replied to 89AKurt's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Oh...... I have switched the A and B version engines that are supposed to go with the respective frames. I didn't want the straight frame, or the blower. Again, my ignorance of what makes a Highboy, is it stock ride height? Or are they jacked up a little? Nothing done today. Was thinking about color scheme for the chassis, stuck on chocolate brown frame, but thinking of caramel suspension parts (red is usually an alternate to back?). -
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was looking at the round lenses, which would be used for the rally lights.

? covered with mud

Cool subject, I'll be watching. I will beg off getting one, would be tempted to rally it.

I've done that! But I prefer using newspaper printing plate, which is thinner and easier to cut. I also use my state's MVD (or DMV) website to custom make my plates.

Yes, these were in the league of the Yugo, and Citroen was not far behind with their Plumber's Nightmare. The Turbo was not certified for the US market, if one was to import it required massive paperwork and modification, but now that it's past 25 years old, they are under collectible status. I know that. I've modified kits that have flat reflectors but use the lens.

I'll lurk for this one. Cool that a pet peeve of mine is already solved with the 3D parts. And you have lenses for other projects.
