  2. If you travel back in time to about April - 2? Page back... you’ll see photos of the Merit kit steering wheel - which isn’t too accurate - I’ve stolen a steering wheel from Merit’s Lotus 11 kit - cleaned up and thinned the center spokes - and re-made the steering wheel with heated - formed - nickel silver.
  3. The handbrake lever is on the left and the shifter is on the right ...
  4. The seat has languished on the workbench for some months ... finished the seat cushions and painted black with some textured paint - might flatten the finish a little - not sure ... ...
  5. 3 pedals made of nickel bar and brass tube - brake in the center. - clutch to the left and gas to the Right . Have a good look. These will disappear under the gas tank in due time ...
  6. The right hand cylinder has a splitter made from brass tube the brake lines go left and right to the front brakes. The shielded brake line on the left cylinder travels back to the rear brake ... by the way. Not sure but I may have reversed this ...
  7. Yup. The Cooper is almost old enough to start nursery school. It occurs to me that maybe I should finish it ... merry new year. Raise you hand if you thought we would still be squirreled away in our workshops after nine months ... TMF sells some coated copper wire That is useful for brake lines. Very soft / bendable - which is helpful in this scale ...
  8. MSC shows a straight knurl wheel with 100 TPI. But I don’t think it could be used with the sherline tool ... ? ? ... maybe get that with an MSC hand tool ... ?
  9. The tool itself should have Markings saying. ____. TPI. ...
  10. Shearling sells knurls with 80 TPI but not 100. - which as you have discovered - is what is needed in this scale - who sells 100 TPI KNURLS and what tool holder do you use ... ? ? and happy holidays ...

  15. The ridge over the opening for the Weber’s has a small ridge - Forming from .015 by .125 strip evergreen. Will also add some reinforcement to the tabs on the forward edge of the bonnet as these are fragile ...
  16. This part is a problem child. Had to saw apart the left/right halves twice to adjust the width and had a tough time getting the right profiles - it has to clear the roll bar and the cylinder heads but still have a sleek length-wise profile ... its almost done ...
  17. And of course, the exhausts do not quite curve past the bonnet. So I’ll probably re-make the 2/3 branch and then we’ll see ...
  18. This is like wood carving. Very messy. If you only have one work bench - you have a problem ...
  19. Forgot to mention - these drum sanders are also very useful The PermaGrit bits will leave a rough surface that the drum sanded will correct. Also use course sanding sticks a lot ... will the exhaust pipes clear the profile of the engine cover ? Not sure - will know tonite -
