Congratulations on an outstanding collection. We share many of the same interests so thanks for sharing yours and identifying them too. The toy based Lotus XVs are a new one for me. Gary

Could not resist these at the Midnight Modelers club meeting yesterday. Maybe it was the nostalgic box art that pushed me over the edge or the fact that I once had the originals and let them go and regretted it.

Looking good. I am a sucker for cabriolets, nothing like open air motoring and the sound Porsche six.

I vote for the dark blue.

Thanks for sharing your recent finds. All good looking stuff.

I got the magnifying glass out and an Exacto knife and found the little black spots are some type of oxidation in the aluminum. Not what I wanted to see. I put a wire brush in my Dremel and some of them can be removed. Fortunately the finish on the model is brushed aluminum so maybe all is not lost.

Oh yes, I like it. Thanks for sharing the link. -
After more digging into the Registry I found that the Franklin Mint "bare aluminum 427 SC" is based upon CSX3056 which was "the prototype for 427 S/C completion production; built by Mike McCluskey 6/91". So the diecast is correct in numbering and details.

Very interesting Ray, thanks for the information and pictures.

Daniel, the book is available on both eBay and Amazon, just search Cecil Gibson. If you like this also search for books by Rex Hays. He is one of my favorite early modeling authors. Sorry about the quality of the photo, should not have had that double expresso.

Randy, the body appears to me to be brushed Zamac with a clear coat over it. Very nicely detailed with working suspension.
