  1. Super save and the color is a perfect match.
  2. Looks like a good solution will have to check them out.
  3. Looking good Rick, please keep us posted.
  4. The darn squirrels chewed through the wires of the Christmas lights on the outdoor tree that I decorate every year. Not in just one place but at least 6 places.
  5. Super build with the Indy Car and thanks for sharing.
  6. Very impressive, thanks for sharing.
  7. Very well done all of them. Welcome back to the fold.
  8. This is my original AMT 1963 Split Window survivor. I never thought the wheels were very authentic and the knockoffs as mentioned earlier are pretty bad. I just noticed the exhaust manifolds and alternator are missing, will have to fix that. Fourteen years later I restored a 1:1
  9. Looking good. Please keep us posted on your progress.
  10. Great story and photos.
  11. Looking real good Rick. Please keep us posted. These Monogram Ultimates are real gems.
  12. Impressive rescue. Just goes to show what a well stocked parts box can yield.
  13. Fascinating concept for the update. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Scott and I both used the AMT Cobra chassis to get the leaf spring chassis but the wheelbase does need to be stretched to match the Revell body. I have also used the Monogram 427 chassis on another 1/24 289 resin body and it worked fine too. Personally I think all the resin kits were based on the Revell slot body and there is not much difference that I can tell. I do not have the Scale Coachworks or HRM bodies to compare but I do have an old UMI body and it is a direct copy of the Revell. The #176 should be the closest match to what is being offered. The #14 and #11 did not have the trunk bumps and the #16 lacks the front fender spats and the #96 is very different in the fenders front and back.
  15. Hachette is making later model diecasts of Russian cars in 1/24 but I have not seen anything that early. Search eBay for 1/24 Russian diecast.
  16. I agree with ACE, build yourself a buck and then fill it with body filler from which you can then fashion a body. The formers keep the shape symmetrical from side to side.
  17. Very nice indeed.
  18. Thanks Rex, this is the first I have seen of these. Now I am wondering if the bodies are different for #96 and #16? Just checked eBay and from the photos they all look to have the same bodies, just different decals.
  19. JC, I will pass along your comment. He did not provide me with any engine bay photos so I don't really know if he has taken any. Gary
  20. Nicely done.
  21. Thanks for posting the pictures Bill. Wish I could have been there.
  22. I like what you have done with the 2F. Very nice.
  23. Really super craftsmanship and to know you used available objects tailored to you needs is encouraging to us all.
  24. I am posting this Cobra on behalf of Scott Kercher. The model and photos are by Scott and he is known for his very authentic builds. This model is of the FIA Cobra raced in the 1964 Targa Florio by Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant. Scott started with the Revell slot car body and stretched an AMT Cobra chassis to fit. He opened and hinged the hood and added the bumps in the trunk lid, created to allow the required FIA suitcase to fit inside, front of rear fender flairs were rounded a bit to match the prototype. He added an Amt engine with Monogram heads and scratched built the headers. The interior is comprised of a scratched dash with The Wizard's "O"s bezels, Monogram side panels with the Amt tunnel, scratched "Gurney" seat. The paint is Duplicolor Viking Blue, Replica' and Miniatures Halibrands, VRM decals, Monogram Goodyears, and scratched jack points.
