  1. Nicely done indeed.
  2. There were two movies that used Ford GT40s as camera cars. Grand Prix used P1027 and Le Mans used P1074. They would make neat models using the Fujimi kits.
  3. Could that be Budd Anderson on the left? ITED STATES - DECEMBER 05: 1966 8th Annual International Motorama - Great Western Exhibit Center. This Ford GT-40 was fitted with cameras for the filming of John Frankenhe66 movie Grand Prix as used to film the innovative low fast moving shots that help made this iconic racing movie.
  4. I have reduced the size of the what I believe is a factory drawing and lets see if it works.
  5. Now that is interesting about the window frames and the front axle. This is my Motomax 1970 SS 396 El Camino and it has the straight axle and window frames.
  6. Very nicely done. I have a CJ in the driveway and appreciate all the detail in the kit and your build.
  7. The Lindberg kit is CSX2287. There are two versions of the K&B and they are CSX2287 too.
  8. Matt, thanks for posting the link to VSRN. I went looking for it yesterday and could not find it.
  9. A well done to all.
  10. I have the Bedford Tanker kit and it looks kind of intimidating. How was it to build?
  11. Brian and JC, I have what appears to be a factory drawing but the file is too big, 1.23 MB, to post and if I reduce it I am afraid of losing detail. PM me if interested and I will email you a copy. Gary
  12. More measurements. Hope they help .
  13. When I joined the Air Force I was assigned to a hospital and our section vehicle was a Dodge like this one. What I remember most is that all the controls were very heavy and if it ever had synchros in the transmission they were long gone. Double clutching was the norm.
  14. OK, as you know there are 2 Monogram kits. The original is labeled as 1/24 and was based upon their slot car. Years later Monogram released a 904 originally made by Aurora in 1/25 scale. The original 1/24 model is a very simple curbside with no engine and hubcaps molded onto the wheels. The 1/25 model is very detailed with opening bonnet and hood and a detailed engine. The size difference is noticeable. Shape wise you will just have to take you choice. The model bodies shown left to right are 1/25 Aurora/Monogram, 1/24 ARII, 1/24 Monogram, and 1/24 K&B slot body with molded in glass. Only the 1/25 has an engine.
  15. Thank you Bill for your comments. One of the challenges with the Gunze kit is getting the seats to fit. I ended up having to grind the sides down. One other thing I found was in my opinion the nose was too flat having been rebuild following striking a dog at Le Mans so I added some material to the top lip of the nose.
  16. I have built two of the Gunze Daytona kits. I happened to measure the frame against the Monogram 427 and found the Gunze to be short. I substituted longer frame tubes, easy to do as the kit uses metal frame tubes, and added a strip to the cowl and the bonnet. I also converted one of the kits to the 1964 configuration. The Gunze kit is based upon CSX2299, the high windscreen chassis. Mike Shoen, who owned CSX2299 at the time, sent me a copy of the photographs that Gunze used to make their kit from. I would post those but do not have permission to do so from Mike Shoen. Here are my builds and I included the my build of the Mini Exotics Super Coupe on a Monogram chassis.
  17. The one word which keep repeating in the responses is gorgeous, I agreed whole heartedly.
  18. Both your Olds are looking good. It is a shame about the wheels on the Welly.
  19. Thank you for sharing the diorama and the family back story. They are both great.
  20. Very nicely done and realistic too.
  21. Very nice indeed.
  22. Sweet builds Tim. Thanks for sharing.
  23. I am dying with envy. Gary
  24. Super nice Corvette.
  25. I had not checked eBay in awhile and surprised at the number and variety of Hachette offerings of Japanese and Russian diecasts in 1/24. These are not in my lane and prices and shipping vary all over the place.
