Christine!! -
I think this one was already mentioned. From the Racing Champion days of "We don't care what's inside the box, just fill it!" 77 Nova. Stock on the box, Pro Stock racer ONLY in the box! 77 Mustang II. MPC kit on the box, common AMT kit in the box. This one bit me! 73 Mustang. MPC on the box, AMT race car in the box. 72 Chevelle SS. MPC on the box, AMT in the box. The one with the butchered mess of a grille. No reasonable explanation on why they could possibly get so many wrong except they were just totally clueless or absolutely didn't care.

Such wild parts on OE cars of the time. No wonder customizers could use parts that couldn't be identified later. Later!

AMT '56 Ford Fairlane chassis swap?

Depending on your motivation, it might be easy enough to cut away the floor pans, trim and sand off the exhaust and glue the smoothed pans back in place. -
AMT '56 Ford Fairlane chassis swap?

My thoughts exactly. At least everything is not molded into it. But that's just me. -
Wick, I'm sorry for your pain. But I do think you should report the incident. What if the next person is a child. Not so funny huh?

I thought, technically, that all gas tanks (in old cars) were made from galvanized steel. Only in cars that got undercoating were different. I didn't think they were painted, but I could be wrong. I know GM cars had bare tanks from the factory. Best way I can think of to get that look is to use aluminum and steel color paints and dab the different colors with a stiff brush to create a speckled appearance.

Well it’s finally announced.?

Thanks Bill. Good information. Unfortunately... Did I hear things I didn't like? Yes I did. Did I hear things I already knew? Yes I did. Do I think there needs to be a change in focus? ****, YES I DO!!!! Maybe the Amish were right all along? -

One word: Kardashian!

A slot car (truck) with opening doors, that must've been wild on the track! Looking at the original box, were there turquoise, blue, red and black versions available?

Nobody was picking him apart about what he wanted to make. As a matter of fact, they would have been even more customers had he chosen to add the stock parts to the package. Many wished him good luck and didn't tell him what to do, they just offered advice. Problem is, people get insulted for any little thing nowadays - including a little advice. Even if it's not even directed at them! However, I think he was big enough boy to speak for himself, Thank you. By the way, Lownslow is a regular member and was last here on Friday, so no one scared him off. He has shared some great builds since 2019

With an engine like that, you'll need that coffin just to be able to bury the driver!

What would YOU like to see as a model
Oldcarfan27 replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah that's it, they're just being rude. After all, they're only in it just for themselves and don't really care about their customers. History has shown that they never release ANYTHING that could possibly even sell and besides that, they don't even like you or the Road Runner. (note: sarcasm). It's only because of that and not even remotely possible that licensing from Warner Brothers could ever be a sticking point. BTW, The WB doesn't like model builders either and won't release cartoon characters for little toys! -

Where was this photo from, an episode of CHiPs? ? Let R2 know. Maybe you'll get a response like this -
marbelised plastic kits
Oldcarfan27 replied to stitchdup's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Not so. End runs could result in some unlikely combinations, gotta finish using whatever parts are left. Once they were boxed up, nobody could tell what they were anyway. I think there was a writer for one of the model car magazines in the 80s who would specifically collect those oddballs. They had to be untampered originals, so they were proven to come from the factory this way. He had a bunch of them. Those would be fun to see. Strip the chrome and build the kit with purple sparkle trim, engine and wheels. Or an orange sparkle 62 Corvette with white trim! -
IIRC, it's in the 67 GTO kit too.

Who is he, Superfly? Will it come with leopard print seats? I'm sorry, but those wheels are a complete turnoff for me. If I wanted modified, I'd make my own. A one off custom is too limiting, no matter what the market is. But, I guess you know your customers.
