  1. I wouldn't expect complete engine detail, only an insert and let's just hope it doesn't include provisions for motorization either! Anybody else notice the aftermarket AM/FM cassette player on the dash? A '97 and no CD? Think Mr. Bean would approve?
  2. Nope, the Outhouse is the one with natural gas in it! ?
  3. I think you're right! Round 2 is pretty good at naming their reissues accurately, so if it says "Lil' Hustler", this is probably what they mean. They know their history. Alan, for sure this will be the kit that originally started out as the "Wild Ones", as only MPC made this combo. AMT never had one. It only became an AMT when Ertl bought out MPC in the 80s. And no, it probably won't have the Hot Curl figure back in it. Which is probably why they've never reissued it with this box art.
  4. Try a 55-56 Tbird kit.
  5. 1973 was the first year for the Federally Mandated 5mph bumpers. If the previous body hugging bumpers didn't pass, they had to add cushions like these or install those giant railroad ties that ended up on just about everything else. I think this was a good compromise. Don't like 'em? Just unbolt them and put a regular chrome bumper bolt into the hole. Voila, problem solved!
  6. You've got nuggets, that's a very rare kit in unbuilt form! Did you pay a lot of bread for it?
  7. Whatever. I'm done with it! They're not going to get me to buy into all this propaganda. This situation is a disaster that's just going to have to play out before any of them learn the outcome! Electric cars are not the magic solution, they're just the next step in the wrong direction. Somebody has got to be making a boatload of kickback money under the table to be pushing this hard on a well documented scam of EVs being the answer to Global warming. What's going to power those cars when all the power grids fail? How are they going to build them when there's already a shortage of computer chips? Where are they going to mine all the rare minerals needed for the batteries? And how are they going to safely dispose of said waste when these cars have to be crushed? Already mentioned was the coal and fuel plants needed to produce the electricity. Hey Greenies! Don't lie to us, windmills and solar panels are not nearly enough energy to sustain the amount needed for us to survive. I'm not against clean energy, but nobody is laying the proper groundwork BEFORE dumping fossil fuels entirely. Like Steve said, putting the cart before the horse is just plain naive and stupid! Oh, and I guess they'll have to start a subsidy program to hand out free EVs and electrical cords to low and middle income families and outsiders. Cause I know a lot of people who can't afford 75k on a unwanted necessity. And with the economy the way it's going, thats probably going to go higher!
  8. Hobby Lobby has a whole rack of Bass wood in just about any size you need. Give them a look see!
  9. If you have the same problem on 2 kits, that's probably something that they may not even be aware of and need to be. I agree with Alan. Notify Round 2 (nicely) that there may be a problem so they can look into it. And let them know that you've had the same problem on TWO kits, so they are aware it's not a one-off issue and that you're not trying to diss them for extra free parts. Probably would be a good idea to send them a picture of both hoods to show them what is happening.
  10. Every time I see MPC boxart from this time period 1980, it takes me back to a happy place in my childhood. Going to the local hobby shop (Orange Coast Hobbies-long gone) and buying the Class Action Monte Carlo, Dukes General Lee and seeing other kits like these. Collecting Golden Wheels and sending for the free kit. Just having a carefree Summer with my friend building models, playing basketball and riding bikes. Nostalgia is a great thing! This is why I enjoy retro boxes, they bring it all back to when life was simple and fun was where you made it!
  11. By the title, I assumed it was the 1/25 Revell kit. But I knew the windshield and wheels looked much better than that kit. Now I see the details that identify it as the 1/8 scale version. Build execution and photography make it look awesome. Congrats!
  12. Just found quite a few on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GEARBOX-1-25-SCALE-DIECAST-GAS-PUMP-MOBILGAS-/255625315627?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
  13. Another case of Murphy's Law. "Paint jobs ALWAYS come out perfect on kits you have no emotional investment in!"
  14. I think you're onto something there! I'd like a new Snap Fast version of both eras of this van. Who needs the engine when all the fun of building it goes into the cargo area anyway? I think most of the engine details are glossed over when anyone builds the current van kits, so why waste tooling dollars recreating something nobody sees anyway? Given all the options, this could be a fun and creative series that the manufacturer could milk for a long time. Work van decal variations could include Coca-Cola, Good Year tire, Sears/Kenmore appliance repair, FedEx shipping... Or how about "Oh-Kay plumbing and heating"? C'mon, think about it. You know where that last one comes from! "Crow bars up!"
  15. "Man that car sure stinks!" ? Sure doesn't offer very much privacy. And where does the TP roll go?
  16. Hinky? Well, what does that mean Biggs, ‘hinky’?” “I don’t know. Strange,” “Weird,” “Well, why don’t you say strange or weird? I mean hinky, that has no meaning!” “I don’t want you guys using words around me that have no meaning. I’m taking the stairs and walking.”
  17. They're out there. I got a bunch of them a long time ago from Target (of all places) when they used to have a decent diecast collectible section. They were blowing them out on clearance and I think I got them for one or two bucks apiece. I also got 1/24 scale motorcycles that way. Problem was the pumps were only the antique pumps with the globe on the top. I wished they could've had some 60s and 70s pumps to go with my same era cars.
  18. That's strange, I have a built up of the Sunrunner and it has the square headlights - same yellow plastic as the van. I've also got an unbuilt Scorcerer van. Haven't opened it in years, but if I remember correctly, it had the round headlights. That would be reissue I'd love to see happen!
  19. Cool project. I always liked these trucks. Do you have something to duplicate the wheels?
  20. I've seen complete, running driver quality 308 GTSs going for as low as 18k online. Earlier GTBs probably go for less as they're not injected and not as fast. And they don't have the Magnum PI panache! Although, restoring one would cost a mortgage on the house. Which is why paying a lot for the clapped out one in this collection wouldn't make much sense.
