  1. Yeah, but what a perfect parking spot for a view of the ocean! Very romantic.
  2. Best Kelsey-Hayes street rod wires are in the Monogram 30 Ford Woody. 1/24 scale, but look great on the 30 Ford 5 window!
  3. Looks close enough to Highland Green to me.
  4. I was just going to say the same thing, John. As well as, ACCURATE authentic Centerlines ACCURATE kidney bean wheels. Like in the Monogram Street Rat Chevelle. American Racing Daisy 200s wheels And can we please have deep backspacing, PLEASE!!!
  5. I think it's the wheels, no way a stock Ferrari ever came with Michelin TRX tires new from the factory! The ones he's added are a giant leap forward for this car!
  6. How did she have models in her toy box? Did somebody else build too?
  7. Was it a REAL one???? Seriously, was it a wooden kit? Never seen a plastic kit of a Conestoga wagon. Sounds like it would be a fun one to build.
  8. That's crazy detailed if they have that engraved on the headlight parts! I remember the 1/8 Monogram Trans Am has the DOT markings on the headlights, but that's a much larger scale. Still a cool detail, though.
  9. I do like them, but I just got a kick out of how easy it was to string together a coherent paragraph using their song titles!
  10. I love this car. It's so conversely designed from everything else Ford was doing at the time. This must've looked like a spaceship in comparison. I remember building one of these when I was young and was enthralled by all of the working features, especially the working windows. Of course, I was too inexperienced to do the kit justice and messed it up royally, but it still was one of my favorites. I just got to thinking, wonder if the Cougar II would fit the more traditional Mustang II chassis and vice-versa. Might make for a good "what if" conversation. Ford could have mass produced the Cougar II and made a full racer out of the Mustang II.
  11. I like the lights, what will you use for the lenses?
  12. A little creative photoshopping to a current Camaro, the IROC is a feasible, natural progression for the current car design. Unless GM decides to make it into a fat, bloated, electric SUV.
  13. Bigfoot was always my favorite. Ever since it made a cameo in a long forgotten movie "Take this job and shove it!" and "Cannonball Run 2".
  14. Love it! If there isn't one, I just may have to do that.
  15. The thread is a place where the rumors can be expressed. Yes it started with Round 2 hinting at a new release and it can still be addressed, but once that topic runs it's course (which I was thinking it pretty much had) then the next rumour can be brought in. Think of it as a gossip tabloid for plastic. ?
  16. That's cool! Maybe you could put pins on the heads and make them removable.
  17. AFAIK, The Monogram kits and the AMT kits are the only ballgames in town. Monogram's are better, but the AMT kits are nothing to sneeze at. They have potential, but to improve them, you should get the tires from the Monogram kits to bring out the best! You could probably trade for the tires here, as they ended up in some other kits and may be more available than the whole kit.
  18. Sure they are, they've got the same hand signals! I think he's saying "1 lap to go!" Or maybe "You're in first place!" ?
  19. Even as diecast, if it were 1/24-1/25, I'd buy 'em!
  20. That's a rumour I haven't heard about and yes, it fits the theme of this thread. It's an ongoing place to throw out some gossip on unannounced subjects. Let the speculation begin!
  21. How cool that at age 8 and after, you had the foresight to take care of all those builds. You have a visual history of how you've progressed. I have a bunch of my old builds, but not all of them and many of them are broken. I should do basic repairs and post them on this site. Is there a thread related to showing our old builds?
  22. You should always apply clear coats before polishing out metallic colors regardless. Polishing straight metallics will cut down into the aluminum flakes, exposing them to the surface and causing a splotchy effect as well as color change due to the aluminum flakes tarnishing over time. Clear coat gives extra layers to polish and avoid damaging paint underneath.
  23. Truer words, never spoken! I almost see this as a modern interpretation of Bill Cushenberry's El Matador that Bud "The Kat" Anderson used to drive for AMT. Anyone notice the similarities?
  24. I absolutely remember that smell, every manufacturer had their own unique scent! I'd like it bottled up and sold like cologne. "Eau de la styrene" I'd even enjoy it as a car air freshener. Imagine getting in and inhaling that "new car kit" smell!
