  1. He's a surfer, they're flexible! If the Duke's can climb in & out a small window, a surfer can surely maneuver through a big gullwing door! Besides, have you SEEN the driving positions for some of those old 60s show rods? Better get to know your chiropractor, FAST!
  2. Don't forget 69 Camaros, they just don't sell! And also the newest tools that they just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to cut. Or the old tools that have paid their way for decades. You know they'll just as easily be rid of that trivial junk! (Tongue firmly in cheek)?
  3. Did you hear the news? Revell is going to stop selling model cars and they're going to melt down all the tooling so they can make more military kits! Now that would be the end of humanity as we know it!
  4. Yours looks soooo much better than before. I always thought the original kit looked so hokey. Maybe I wasn't the only one, as I never see them built.
  5. But where's he gonna put the board wax?
  6. May I suggest, heavy metal flake Gold. Very popular on 60s show rods. Actually any candy color with heavy metal flake. But I see this one in gold! 2nd picture looks shocking with the body all cut in pieces, but I can see where you're going with it now. Can't wait to see more. Cowabunga, Dude!
  7. The way I see it, if that kit were to be reissued today (which it never will), it would cost at least that much at current retail price. So you got an obsolete, vintage classic kit for today's price. I'd say you scored!
  8. After seeing it set up, I have to say I like it! Very unique, yet very retro. Looks like it was pulled right from Rod & Custom in the early 60s. The theme flows together, front to back. The wheels, the stance, the attitude everything works! I like how you used the 58 Chevy headlight brows over the grille, good idea. Keep it up!
  9. Cool, now I know. I can make a GT out of the Cobra reissue. I'll pull some GT wheels from AMTs 69 Mustang and go to town. Yahoo!
  10. If you want a good chassis to start from, use the chassis from the AMT 69 442/Hurst Olds. It fits well and is light years from the old Johan snap kit. Plus, if you start from the Hurst, you'll already have the 455 engine.
  11. Where do you keep finding these MPC Camaros? I find they are harder to come across than the AMT ones. I've got a few of the AMTs and only one MPC. I'll post it as soon as I can find it. I've got a story for that one!
  12. Now I see, it's Revell's fault that so many Japanese model kits are motorized! But at least this Revell kit still has an interior and underhood details. ? I'll bet you can get it to run again, it looks like it's all there.
  13. Yes, that's the way it's supposed to look. I'm going to download that pic and use it for reference. Fine job on that Camaro, Mike.
  14. I knew you guys would come through! Thanks for filling me in. It's good to know where the parts came from. Did anyone figure out the headers on the tan small block Chevy, the origin of the Torino grille, or the aqua mailbox thingy? Last is #15. I know where this one came from. I want to see who can figure it out first. See my hint and then see Casey's answer for #14.
  15. Those are decals? Yikes! You did a great job, but I think I would rather paint them on. That looks too stressful for me. I have a feeling we'll find a bunch of these kits unfinished in the future. I like that they put the High Roller wheels and suspension back in this kit. Looks tough! CG is right about the fuel injection, never understood why Monogram did that. And the engine looks too small in this kit. I think it would be fun to go all out and put a fully detailed big block engine in there. There's sure enough room!
  16. The Cad needs chrome. I found that the Johan ambulance parts can fit with some modifications, but that's a 66, this is a 65. I'll have to wait and see. I'd rather restore it and not modify it. I like your idea about the Camaro. I'd like to use the chassis from the new tool Camaro and the Baldwin Motion has the look you're talking about, so I may go with it. I've always wanted to make a 70s street machine. I want to correct the nose piece first. I never thought that AMT did this area right, and it always bugs me. The headlight areas should have a curve to them, not just jut out flat. There's not many choices for 74 to 77 Camaros, so I want to make this one accurate.
  17. Does that make this a "true" 3 in 1 kit?
  18. I did the same thing, using a street freak 65 Mustang and the coupe, I restored the body, but now I need the interior. I also want to do that with an AMT Iron Horse Mustang and a 68 Shelby - if Round 2 ever reissues the Mustang.
  19. I didn't even notice that, that's wild! That gives me an idea for a 50s style custom with a rounded out nose to the grille area. Hmm, that'd be different. I'm going to use that idea. Or maybe I'll use it to build a better interpretation of the Barris Wild Kat pickup. Thanks!
  20. No way, dunk it in fluid and it's practically mint! Lol At least yours still has all the parts in their proper places. My hearse looks like it was built by Freddie Krueger. I do like it this way, though, looks like it would make a usable farmers truck. The mismatched wheels and dumped back end make it look like it needs to be carrying a load.
  21. Not a copy, it is plastic. Just don't know what issue it came from.
  22. Nah, too accurate. Maybe its an early "Deals Wheels" issue. Just needs oversized wheels in the back, and posed in launch mode. I like the Pontiac wheels in the back, wish I had 'em. They match one's to a promo I have.
