  1. "Mele Kalikimaka" by Bing Crosby.
  2. That's funny, I never put the two together until now! ?? In fact, I never realized how much his arch nemesis, Mike Myers looks like Elon Musk! You never see them at a party together, Hmmm?
  3. Was that shipped with Amazon Prime? And they want to tell us they can ship everything to your house in hours instead of days? How?
  4. If your parents had the original issue album with the booklet cover, that record is worth some bucks! A lot of his original issue albums had extra goodies that make them valuable.
  5. Me too. I luuuv Charlie Brown Christmas music and it's because of Vince Guaraldi! Growing up my dad used to play instrumental jazz Christmas albums, and it got me to just relax and chill with Christmas Songs with no vocals. One of his go-to records was Bert Kaempfert's Christmas Wonderland. Check out the album online, it's Classic Christmas!
  6. Let's hope Revell finally replaces the chambered exhaust. Revell seems to think that exhaust was standard equipment on every 69 Camaro ever built.
  7. Photos are very effective! Next time crop out the 1:1 car and the model will look real.
  8. Looks like a motor boat with wheels! "Jeez, what a waste of machinery."
  9. That's a concept vehicle, the F150 Bronco didn't actually come to market until 1978 to replace the first gen boxy 77 Bronco. Notice how much better the grille looks in the Bronco kit, vs. the F350 grille - not sure if it fits the pickup, though.
  10. 80 Monte Carlo is the only one I'm interested in, but it's not going to be around until summer, so I've got time.
  11. 15 minutes on Duck, Duck, Go and I found at least three or four Chevy C30 chassis/cabs for reference. Looks like chassis mods may have been custom depending on the load rating and unit being installed. I doubt anybody would be critical if you overbuilt it for carrying a car.
  12. You're right about the grille. However, the one in the current issue is nothing spectacular anyway, so acquiring a resin copy from an aftermarket supplier would make a good deal of sense. If it's a better chassis you're looking for, I've heard that the one from the common Revell 64-66 C10 fits like a glove and makes a much better base to start your project. You'll have to stretch the wheelbase, but it sounds like you're planning a lot of modifications anyway. Good luck and keep us updated.
  13. When I was a kid, the Albertsons grocery store had 1/24 "Midnight" Capri, Johan snap Javelin in green and the Johan snap Cadillac Eldorado in blue. I asked and got them for my birthday. Revell 60 Corvette at Radio Shack. Monogram Chevy Luv camper found at Alpha Beta. And a Revell Good Year blimp kit at, of course, Good Year Tire store.
  14. I have fond memories of this kit. I got it as a birthday party gift and my Dad AND Mom both helped me build it. One of those box art kits that I love!
  15. If the kit included the "Sanitary T", I'd be interested in it. Otherwise for me, 'Meh' ?
  16. I find that going online and typing in a general topic (junkyards, wrecked muscle cars, abandoned Ferraris, built plastic model cars, etc.) Whatever sounds interesting but not specific. Just peruse for a while, follow where the interest takes you and before you know it, ideas start to form. In fact, sometimes I have too many ideas and not enough time. I like to download pictures of cars I like and jot down notes of cars I'd like to build. That way, when I am in a dry spell, I'll go back to my references and renew ideas I may have forgotten. Try sites like IMCDB (Internet movie car data base), Junkyard Life, HAMB, Cars in Barns, Curbside Classics, Barnfinds.com
  17. You know how it goes for us modelers, as soon as someone scratchbuilds an unusual model, a manufacturer decides to kit one. So on behalf of all of us - Thank You!
  18. Beautiful, and nice save from a junker! I like the one piece rear door.
  19. Probably true, but the detail parts of the turbos is much better than anything MPC did for their Indy pace car and annuals. It wasn't a great car, but it does represent a time when real car manufacturers were trying different things to improve performance. EFI was the game changer and that was 5 or 6 years away in 1980.
  20. Truck looks nice. Glad I could help.
  21. So it seems most of the parts packs got integrated into many of Revell's mainstream kits back in the 60's. Which would make finding the parts pretty easy. 63 Corvette engine and 283 engine parts ended up in the 57 Chevys. 23 T bucket in the Tweedy Pie and Rodfather. Custom frame and Hemi in Miss Deal Studebaker Dragster frames in Revellion 62 Dart, Mickey Thompson Attempt 1, Tony Nancy 22jr. Pontiac engine in Mickey Thompson Challenger 1 Ford SOHC engine in Henry J and Austin gasser Olds V8 in Thames Panel and Anglia If I'm wrong, please correct me and if I missed anything, please add to the list.
  22. Original TTA was about $19.99 and the 82 Z28 was about $25. The 85 IROC was priced about $35. I remember, because as a kid, I had to save my money to buy the Trans Am and Z28 and the orange tube of Testors model glue was 25 cents. I'll never forget the excitement of going to Toy City to buy the big box it came in and riding it home on my bike. Great fun! Oh yeah, I still have both cars in my rebuilder stash. '80 came out when the car was new. '79 was issued in 88-89. Both were issued once as far as I remember.
  23. Yes, I've got a case of 'em! I tried to spray them but nothing came out - probably dried up. I did notice that the leaking cans disappeared! Hmm, strange.
  24. Give me the 1/24, 1980 Turbo T/A and I'd be happy!
