Thanks, guys! That was my first thought, too, but comparing survivor Impalas to the Mythbusters car this one looked consistently darker. Between that, the patchiness in some places, and the missing trim, my guess is that it was repainted at some point by someone attempting to hit Tropic Turqouise and being happy with "close enough." I think your idea of Testors Teal would be right for it.
