The brakes are a bit too "drilled", but overall it looks wonderful.

Lotus Seven Replica - diary of a build F I N I S H E D
Italianhorses replied to da Speedinger's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I really like these cars, and you are taking a very non-traditional approach to recreating one, especially with all the kits available out there. As a model builder, I know what it takes to make something from scratch and look like the real thing. It takes skill and good eye, and looks like you have plenty of both! -

It did! Looks great. -
Smurf blue.

White is a hard color to paint. I'd definitely put more clear over if you plan on doing much sanding/polishing.

Can't make it any more sacrilegious at this point. Its a freaking 288 GTS!

I vote for some really non-Ferrari color, like Techno Violet, or Laguna Seca Blue.

Tamiya 90-96’ 300zx TT (Z32, Fairlady)

I know its too late for this one, but next time when you have a light-color car, try to do panel lines with a darker shade of the base color, i.e, dark yellow, or brown. Would look much more realistic. http://italianhorses.net/Tutorials/Panelines/panels.htm -
Cool builds - I hope you'll be back on your feet soon. Sorry about the loss - its tough.

Yup, it has that Ferrari F40 look-alike wing! Gives it so much presence! Great build.

This is such a cool shape - love the wedges! Too bad about the glass - it does look a bit recessed. Wonderful build. -

Fully detailed Pagani Huayra..Under Glass
Italianhorses replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Yup, my sentiments exactly. That is why I build a box-stock every now and then. The Huayra looks wonderful! -
These are actually light bulbs that came in the kit (this is box-stock build after all :)), not LEDs, but same principle, I guess. LEDs are better since they won't get warm as these bulbs do!

Fujimi 1/24 BMW Z4 GT3 Presentation Version

I looked at that. I need 8 black logos total, which means 2 sets of these at 10 Euro a pop plus shipping. That's expensive. -

Question for the masses - anyone have, or know who makes some yellow DUNLOP decals for the wheels, and tiny Castrol logo decals for the front/rear bumpers? These are missing from the kit, and I'm having a hard time sourcing these. Please see photo on what I'm talking about. -
Wow, Revell still makes those tins? I really hope you reconsider at least spraying the body. Don't know if you will be able to achieve good finish by brush painting.

Very nice! -
I usually burnish down all the seams/edges one more time before paint. It really is mostly the quality of the tape that matters - bad tape will not stick well in the first place. Good tape will not easily pull off. Also, I almost never use tape when I need a super clean, sharp line - I use BMF. Expensive and time consuming - yes, but you can't beat the results.
