  1. I got a deck kit for the back of my house. Unfortunately it's just a stack of lumber and I have to assemble it.
  2. Hmm, I must have missed that. However I've seen a lot of his videos talking about air brushes and how to use them. I've found that spray cans work ok for things like painting the chassis, but if you're not real careful you can bomb the model making it look like it was dipped in a bucket of paint. I do use Tamiya spray primer.
  3. You ain't seen nothing till you watch some old WWII movies where they show three completely different aircraft being shot down or a waste gunner shoots down a German fighter but they show gun camera film from a fighter.
  4. The red ring on the regulator is a lock so the regulator knob doesn't back off. I've never had to use it on mine.
  5. I got it yesterday since today's Sunday and no mail delivery. Got a great Tamiya 1/48 F4U1 birdcage corsair. I built this kit before but I had it on a display shelf about 8' off the floor and apparently a plastic model kit won't glide. Never found all the pieces.
  6. I remove it with mineral spirits, very mild and doesn't affect many paints except enamel.
  7. All true, but I don't understand the philosophy of "that's good enough I don't need to improve". Everything I do, I try to do a better job next time. I'd like to see the forum have a place for honest constructive criticism. I understand that no one wants to trash a build by a beginner, they need support and some praise, but how is someone supposed to improve if they don't know what they've done could be easily improved by a few simple things.
  8. Ok, how would you change a tire on this? Yeah, I know, you'd probably never drive a custom like this but the tires might eventually need a repair or replacement.
  9. Cool bunch of fast cars. I haven't really done any drag cars so I have to ask: where do you get the monster slicks and wheels?
  10. In my model club there is a separate award from the judged ones, "peoples choice" where everyone votes on their favorite.
  11. I saw a moron the other day driving a Ram 3/4 ton 4X4 with those wheels and tires. I wanted to pull him over and b***h slap him.
  12. In these "uncertain times" we need to be more caring as well as diligent. Or as the old chief on The Outlaw Jessie Wales said: We must endeavor to persevere.
  13. Alright then, the next time I wish someone would come out with a kit I'd like, I'll just have you start a conversion. Thanks Snake.
  14. Wow, looking good. Yeah...Tamaya decals can be problematic sometimes.
  15. I thought I saw some specks in your paint but after looking closely I found the specks were on my monitor. Anyway looks very nice.
  16. The Super Clean works great. You can pick it up at Wal Mart, probably a lot of other places as well. The safety advice was correct, this stuff will dry out your hands and burn eyes. One more tip, don't use a aluminum container to soak the parts in. It will eat holes in the aluminum. (from one who learned the hard way)
  17. You could always strip it and start over. What kind of primer did you use?
  18. I don't use Tamiya stray, so "some" Tamiya paint may dry dull. I was talking about Tamiya gloss acrylic paints through an air brush. I really don't like to use spray cans, it can bomb the model with paint hiding details. I've seen some that look like they have 2 scale inches of paint on the body.
