  1. Now that you mention it… I can’t un-see it.? Oh well, I will just have to live with that one. Maybe if I can drop the front end a bit more it won’t be as noticeable.
  2. That is beautiful Dennis!? An amazing amount of detail you’ve put into this one, and it’s sure paid off.?
  3. Excellent work…especially on such a small scale!? I need a minimum of 4x cheaters to work on 1/25 scale.??
  4. Yeah, talk about a loyal bunch of customers!? Thanks. There are lots of little issues to fix on this one.? Thanks!? Yes Dennis, it looks like the frames are identical. I definitely have some suspension issues to sort out.?
  5. Thanks Justin.? Yeah, well they did originally make these kits for kids I believe who are probably a little less obsessive.? My second attempt at a horn ring… Edit: I actually wound up using my first attempt, which at first I thought was too large on the diameter.? Horn button is just printed off the internet.
  6. I am going to use the tires from the Revell ‘62 Vette. The Revell ones have nicer tread and AMT molds were not perfectly aligned, so the tire halves are offset slightly.? The ‘53 rims will fit thankfully. I did do a mockup, and as Garry said, the front is way too high. I do have a twist in the frame also that I will need to rectify. I figure the easiest way to lower the front is a set of dropped spindles (kingpins actually) and rather than modifying the kit pieces I am just making some from Evergreen.
  7. Thanks Sonny.? Thanks for the heads up Garry!? It is definitely way too high. Glad you’re enjoying it.? Thanks.? That is one of my pet peeves…shifters, signal levers, horn rings, etc.?
  8. Fabulous work Gil.? That yellow looks spectacular on it.?
  9. Everything is looking really great Joe! I especially like that engine detailing….and how you put some real pedals in there.??
  10. Ok, thanks Steve.?
  11. Thanks for the reply. I will have to give it a try I guess. I imagine you used acrylic for the detailing?
  12. I spent a few minutes and reworked the lump of a master cylinder.
  13. Thanks Bob!?
  14. I glued some blocks under the seats and then mounted them on posts. Then I trimmed the seats so that they are not sitting on the floor. I don’t like the oversized shift lever or the location, which is too far forward on the transmission hump, so I scratch built one from evergreen and a stick pin. That’s all for now. Thanks for lookin.?
  15. Excellent work Garry!? Yours looks every bit as good as mine.?
  16. No simple OOB builds for you eh, Steven??
  17. It looks like a really nice barn find. I hope you can get her cleaned up.
  18. 1950’s and 1960’s cars and trucks are my favourite model subjects.
  19. I didn’t read this entire thread, but didn’t see any pics of detailing over the chrome paint. I would like to strip and spray this grill and then black out the recess. I imagine an acrylic paint would be safest. Has anyone done any detailing over the Revell chrome paint? Thx. Greg.
  20. Thanks Joe.? It worked out better than I expected. The foil job isn’t the best, but I can live with it.? I hope the panel liner doesn’t stand out too much after final paint.?‍♂️
  21. The windshield in this kit is horribly thick….1-5/8” in 1:1 scale. So I decided to make one from .010” clear sheet, and foil the windshield frame instead of using the Revell chrome spray on it. I also scribed in a recess for the rear window which I will also make from clear sheet.
  22. Thanks Joe…here you go.? The front bumperettes and LP mount needed a bit of reworking to fit in a decently stable manner. I added some top latches and did the panel liner. A bit more putty work on those little fins to get them looking more subtle.
  23. Hi Dennis. Do you have a thread on it here by chance? Thanks everyone. I guess I will have to strip the grill and headlight surrounds so the finish will match. I plan to try the Revell spray chrome again, but will have to let it dry a lot longer than my last attempt.? I also wonder about blacking out the recesses afterwards.?
  24. Yeah, but you would likely need a huge fan to draw enough air to cause problems. Just a wipe down should be fine.
