  1. I have used this particular brand (Jonard Tools made in USA) of wire on 1/25 models also and it still looks alright. As Pete said, the guage refers to the actual wire size. The outer diameter of the insulation can vary greatly. I also have some 30 gauge (China-something) that measures 0.025โ€ o.d. and just looks a little too big for plug wires in my eye. And like you said, any 32 guage wire would likely look fine regardless of the insulation thickness. Here are the 0.020โ€ wires on a 1/25 Bronco. Maybe a bit big but not glaringly so.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  2. This is a 1/24 scale GTO. The plug wires are 30ga wire wrapping wire that measures 0.020โ€ or 0.48โ€ (1/2โ€approx.) in full scale. The heater hose is some unknown wire that measures 0.040โ€ or 0.96โ€ (1โ€approx.) in full scale. The plug wires are technically a tad big and the heater hose is probably very close for the common 5/8โ€ or 3/4โ€ hoses. I donโ€™t think that either one looks obviously out of scale to the naked eye. A hair bigger or smaller is not going to matter unless you are entering serious contests or asking for advice on a forum.๐Ÿ™„
  3. I6 from the AMT โ€˜51 Chevy with the Fisher 12 port head. Custom built exhaust and oil filter added.
  4. Very nice! I like those wheelsโ€ฆwhat are they from?
  5. Totally looks like it could have been a factory produced unit.๐Ÿ‘ Excellent blending!๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. Beautiful!๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. Great subject Steve! I really like the styling on these cars.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. You said earlier that youโ€™re using a rechargeable compressor. Is it built into the airbrush or a separate unit? Either way, you would need to invest in a decent quality airbrush and compressor in order to get satisfactory results. You can get good paint jobs with craft paints, but they are a bit trickier to use than โ€œstinkyโ€ paints. Edit: And there is nothing wrong with spray cans. Especially Tamiya or Mr. Hobby.
  9. I still may do that.๐Ÿ˜ณ Depending on how well my hinges work out. I am still waiting for a shipment of microscopic drill bits to arrive later today.
  10. Thanks for all the compliments Fellas! It was a challenge with all the modifications, but probably not as frustrating as trying to get all those door and hood hinges working on a stock build.๐Ÿคฏ I actually got two of these kits and the other one had a decal sheet in it.๐Ÿ™‚ So I added the ford emblem on the grill shell and updated the photos. Hereโ€™s my original inspiration photo.
  11. Cool!๐Ÿ˜Ž Nice work Manuelโ€ฆI never would have guessed that there is a โ€˜57 T-Bird under there.๐Ÿ™‚
  12. Occasionally I like to work on model cars.
  13. Donโ€™t know if this helps, but the Fujimi kit Iโ€™m working on has this method in the instructions.
  14. Nicely done.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. Nice resurrection!๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘
  16. Very nice! Patina looks very real.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. Iโ€™m calling this one done.๐Ÿ™‚ I could do a lot more on it, but Iโ€™m not really into the plumbing and secondary wiring stuff. Itโ€™s just too fiddley and frustrating for me.๐Ÿฅด Anywaysโ€ฆthanks for following along folks! I appreciate your support, encouragement and opinions.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž More pics under glass here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/199849-1931-model-a/
  18. This is the Revell โ€˜31 Model A Sedan kit with a few modifications.๐Ÿ™„ Paint is Tamiya XF-71 Cockpit Green with Vallejo Jade Green accents and Mr. Hobby Premium gloss topcoat . The engine is from the AMT โ€˜51 BelAir kit with the Fisher 12 port head option. I had a lot of fun building itโ€ฆbuild thread here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/196266-revell-โ€˜31-model-a-sedan/
  19. Do you have a brand name? How well does it sand? Thanks, Greg.
  20. I had to add some 0.020โ€ Evergreen to the trunk lid to close the gap. And I had to fix the lip above the tail light that I broke while carving a ledge for the trunk lid to sit on. I scribed the door lines deeper. And I ground out the molded in door handles and replaced them with some 0.020โ€ craft wire, and drilled a divot for a door lock.
  21. Primer before paint when building models is an absolutely necessary step I believe that canโ€™t be skipped.
  22. Itโ€™s coming along beautifully Bill.๐Ÿ‘ I love that blue on it!๐Ÿ˜Ž
  23. Nice work blending in that Chevy hood.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž
  24. Person of interest is who law enforcement is looking to interrogate.
  25. I think Iโ€™d drill a couple of holes in the hood and mount a $50 set of driving lights and call it good!๐Ÿ˜ฌ
