Long ago when I was a child, building a model car didn’t take nearly as long as it does now.

I rarely use enamel paint so have no first hand experience….but this is what the bottle says. Maybe try thinning down some water based acrylic paint to use?

I happen to be building that engine right now. And a real setup I just found with only six carbs.

When I was 16 (1977) I had a chance to buy a 1956 BelAir convertible sitting in a farmers field for $500.00. The roof was shot and interior in bad shape. But there was not a speck of rust on it because it had a tow bar on the front and 1964 California plates on it. Being 16, I wanted something I could drive so I bought a ‘67 Falcon instead.😕

Try bestmodelcarparts on ebay. Not sure if they are decals or just printed?

One thing I know about the panel line accent is that it has great “wicking” ability. That is why it works so well for panel lines. it will wick into corners and along seams or edges, but will not cover any flat surfaces.
