  1. I believe Ulf has it correct. The black piece is the lower half of the two-piece valve cover. And for anyone researching this engine, here are some more pics and a link to another thread and links to the articles that the pics come from. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/194814-was-there-ever-a-kit-with-a-gmc-inline-6-and-wayne-12-port-head/ https://www.hotrod.com/features/iconic-ike-iacono-dragster-1958/ http://www.poustusa.com/CHEVY_VEGA/raoul_balcaen.htm

  6. Internet IQ tests.🙄 I get links to them all the time from pinterest and decided to try one just for amusement purposes. I scored 145-156.🤓 Then I did it again entering all incorrect answers and guess what….I scored 145-156.😳 No wonder some individuals are under the impression that they are intelligent when in fact….

  15. To all those who build fantastic models on here, I will do my level best to steal your methods.
  16. I got the idea from a build on jalopy journal. I like it because it keeps the spring mounted lower. It looks more structurally sound than the high mount in my mind. Whether it is better in the real world or not I don’t know…but it works for me…I think, and I definitely won’t be doing any panic stops..? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/26-t-roadster-pick-up-build-thread.460009/page-3
  17. Thanks Carl ! Nope the Viper was just too much engine. I raised the front crossmember level with the top of the frame. It sits pretty close to level now.
  18. Thanks Boys! I hope it works out.?
  19. Hippies are a dying breed.
  20. The paint job looks great!??
  21. Nice to see you building this one David. I have one waiting it’s turn too.?
  22. Brake lines should not need to be under coated, and they should not be rusted through on a vehicle that age…or any age really. If it was a “rip” in the line, then it was physically damaged somehow. Thankfully you had the good sense to have it transported to the repair shop.
  23. Lots of interesting stuff going on here…I’m taking notes.?
  24. I finally figured out what to do with the front axle on this one. I want to lower it substantially, but I don’t like the typical scarily raised suicide mount system. I found a great 1:1 project online that I more or less copied. I started making some wishbones, then discovered that I had some from a Revell ‘29A that would only need a bit of modification. I still might use my scratch built ones. I think It’s low enough now in the front and I just need to raise the rear a touch to get a neutral or very slight positive rake. Pics tell the story.
  25. Thanks Jim. The wheels are actually going to be resin copies that I’ve made, so I’m doing my own mounting system.?
