    1934 Packard

Thanks Guys! It was a fun build, a little out of my normal genre.?
  2. Yes, the tailgate pins fit into slots from the outside, then held in place by the tail lights. It does not fold down level like it should, but it would take a fair bit of work to correct it.?
  3. Very nice!?
  4. Great work on the merc…and the photography!?
  5. Really great looking woody Bob! Well done!??

    1934 Packard

Finally finished this one.? Thanks for looking! WIP here:https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/190504-1930-packard/
  7. Well it’s been a while since I’ve worked on this one. I got the grill guard mounted nicely, but managed to snap the headlight bar in half.? luckily I was able to drill and pin it back together satisfactorily.? The warped body nearly sent it back into the box forever.? I managed to get most of the warp out thankfully. It is now finished and under glass here:https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/195310-1934-packard/
  8. Tonight might be a good time to watch for meteors.
  9. Bay of Fundy is the place to go if you want to see some amazing tides.
  10. Great reason to get an airbrush if you don’t already have one!?
  11. That looks like a mini diorama to me.
  12. Some info on brush types here: https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/an-introduction-to-art-paint-brushes-4086375
  13. Fun is a very subjective matter.
  14. I prefer to buy ones that are meant for oil/solvent based paints rather than acrylic/water based paints. That said, I go more by the length and shape of the bristles than anything. The top two are my currently most-used brushes that I happened across at Marshalls. The next two red ones are from Micheals. The next was from Artists Emporium…and the rest I’m not sure where I got them? The wide one is also from Micheals, and I bought it specifically for painting headliners. I use lacquer thinner for cleaning them and abuse the heck out of them.?
  15. Here’s a couple from a local meet.
  16. Quite the talent and imagination you had back then Bob!? Really nice that you saved them all too. I only build maybe a dozen as a kid, but I sure wish I had saved mine.?
  17. Cool Model!? Here is a link to that thread: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/195158-fendermenders-1960s-models-from-the-past-postings/
  18. Tasty pastries are a delight.
  19. Pretty much like D.W. said…here is how I lengthened the frame for a Jeepster build.
  20. They are pushing the “zipper merge” thing here too in Winnipeg. In theory it should work fine if both lanes are on the same page and everyone is paying attention. Both lanes have to be moving at the same pace for it to work smoothly. In practice though it does cause the “shock wave” of braking that David mentioned. The lane that is closed always seems to be the quickest route through the bottleneck.
  21. Wishing you a speedy recovery as well Mario.
  22. Perspective is everything, and a violin is just a fancy fiddle.
  23. Not technically model car work…but I added some storeage units to my desk drawer. I had a sliver of space left so…
  24. Of course I know racoons are vermin, but they are cute vermin.
  25. You need to build a catwalk in front of your house.
