  1. Exactly. I can see having an obituary thread pinned in the Off Topic section. But, not here. This section is for General Automotive Talk (Trucks And Cars). An obituary thread just doesn't belong here.
  2. Did you spray it over gray or white primer? The color chips can be off sometimes. But, the cap on the can is usually right on the money. When in doubt, do a test spray.
  3. I use .080 for roll cages.
  4. I have to agree with you. But, like you say, they're what makes a '32 Chevy. My plan to tone them down is to paint them body color and glue them slightly opened. I'm also not a fan of the headlight bars and dual horns. I'm going to cut the horns away and see if that helps. I may have to snag a headlight bar from a Ford.
  5. I see no reason to test the aerodynamics of a model car.
  6. Yeah. Here's an in progress pic. Here's a couple of it finished up.
  7. I'll be watching this one! I built one a couple of years ago. But, I grafted the roof from the Del Rio onto the Edsel body and shortened the quarter panels behind the rear wheels.
  8. No idea as I've never used it. But, Steve swears by it. So, it must work.
  9. That's what I thought until I painted over yellow. It bled right through a medium blue on the second coat of clear. Steve Milberry uses a product called BIN by Zinsser. It's a stain blocker and comes in a spray can.
  10. No, the tires came from a Dollar General toy from several years ago and the wheels are from an AMT Dodge D-50.
  11. Those tires scale out to 46.5" in 1/25 scale and the wheels scale out to almost 20" (19.675 to be exact). The tires on this GMC scale out to 38". The tires on the Bronco I posted earlier scale out to 41.25". I always thought those were 44" inch tires. Pretty sure they were advertised as such.
  12. You're welcome Steve! I just used the lifted suspension from the F-150 High Roller.
  13. Thanx Tim! It's mine. It's posted in the pickup section.
  14. Not if you do like I did and buy one that's incomplete. Complete kits are pricey. I have a sealed and an open sealed inside kit in the stash.
  15. These wheels and tires are from a Monogram Ford F-150 High Roller kit. The tires are too big. But, the wheels are about as close as you're gonna get.
  16. I have both of those kits. But, never have really looked at the chassis' on them. I finally have my wheels and tires picked out! These fit the look I'm after perfect! They're just the steel wheels from an AMT '49 Ford that have been gone over with a Molotow pen. I want this model to have the look of a car that could have been built in a backyard or small garage. So, everything is going to be basic. I am going to get rid of the bumpers. But, I'm going to save the brackets just in case I change my mind. The plan is to paint it with Tamiya Satin Black and just polish it with Tamiya Course compound to bump the shine just a bit. The interior will be stock with a set of gauges and a different shifter at the most.
  17. Nicely done Tommy! I always appreciate when someone takes a kit that some dismiss and turn it into something like this! Not every kit is shake and bake. This model proves what a difference a little extra effort can make. Well done!
  18. You probably need to take some out of the rear cab wall. Line the bed up with the cab and make sure it isn't hanging down below the bottom of the bulkhead of the bed. When the cab wall and bulhead of the bed are on the same plane, they'll line up perfect. It kinda looks like your cab is tilted forward a bit.
  19. I actually prefer these over the Free Wheeling decals. To me the FW decals are too much and gaudy looking.
  20. Yeah, I'm kinda thinking something like these. Or something like these. Maybe without the whitewalls though.
  21. I now have the engine fitted for good this time! Everything is under the hood just like I want it. I ended up having to move the crossmembers back 6mms. I'll have to shorten the driveshaft the same amount. The engine looks better placed where it should be in relation to the firewall. The distributor will be a close fit. But, I have plenty of room for the rest. I changed out the black spoke Torque Thrusts for a set of gray spokes. But, I'm still looking for the right setup. I'll eventually hit on it. But, I like these better. I'm almost ready to start shooting some primer!
  22. Yeah, but that GMC can't do consistent 12.80s in the quarter mile. The Lightning can. If they were going to do an apples to apples comparison, they should've compared it to a Rivian R1T. I'd like to see those two drag race!
  23. That's actually a Pontiac engine and it has an A/C compressor setup. I already have the belt and pulleys fixed.
  24. Thanx Steve! I was thinking about using the Ford frame also. It would've made a good poke at the Chevy guys especially with a Ford engine in it too. My kit is the Connoisseur Classic that's stock only. I've seen the street version many times on ebay. But, it always went for way more than I was willing to pay. That delivery will make a cool hot rod!
