  1. That is one sharp looking Buick Gene!! I love the color on it! Sure makes me wish I had done something similar to the one I built a few years ago. Nice work!
  2. A chopped top can get by with a gasser build. But, if it comes in the stock version, it'll fly about as well as the '90 Mustang LX.
  3. Very nice! Don't think there's a better color combo for that car. Nice work!
  4. Sharp as a tack!! The wheels and stance makes it!
  5. That's a nice looking El Camino Oliver! Nice custom touches! Really like the grille! First time I've ever seen one used on a build.
  6. If they offer the '64 Galaxie separately later on, I'll nab one. I wonder when/if we'll see the '65 Malibu and the '63 Nova with a similar combo?
  7. Thanx! I'm going to keep the knockoffs. There just too much chrome on them for the wheels.
  8. This'll probably be the last update on this project. I have it in the home stretch now! I just gotta keep picking away at the little things to get it put on the shelf. The chassis is all together. Just have to add the disc brakes to the wheels and a little detail painting. I really like how the red interior goes with this color! I'm going to put a small decal on the center of the knockoffs so the chrome isn't so overpowering. Thanx to everyone who followed along and commented! Much appreciated!
  9. The sky is not falling yet. Even if does, I have plenty to keep me occupied.
  10. What's a little strain on the brain? It worked great! I like how you were able to keep from having to lengthen the roof. This is definitely not an easy chop!
  11. Very clever chop! I see what you mean about the rear window. It kinda looks like it needs to be raised as well as some height taken out of it. Did you cut the top edge of the trunk down to lower the rear of the roof? I chopped one of these a couple of years ago and thought about cutting it there. But, I decided to cut the window down instead.
  12. Thanx Nigel, I'll try that! I tried the embed code with the same result.
  13. Just tried to post a photo using my Flickr account (older photo no longer on my tablet) and I had the same issue as Dennis. No photo. Just the link.
  14. Nice candy paint job!
  15. This is an "old" favorite. Tamiya Lime Pearl and Testors White Lightning.
  16. So do I. I recently learned the hard way with a white paint job that the primer has to match as well.
  17. Thanx Carl! The bucket seats are from an MPC '85 Corvette and the rear seat is from the Revell '69 Camaro. I don't care for the mismatch. But, it is what it is.
  18. I've never done it myself. But, this would be my plan. Make sure you primer and paint the hood attached to the body from the first coat of primer to the last coat of paint or else there will be a mismatch. Been there. Done that.
  19. You don't need a photo host here Dennis. Just paste them directly from your device.
  20. I have the interior finished! Now it's just down to the small stuff.
  21. I've always meant to build one. I have three kits. Just never have got around to it. Always liked the '57 Ford better.
  22. Red primer with body color overspray.
  23. Thanx Nigel! The knockoffs are what I'm unsure about. I never have been a fan of them. I'm thinking I'll yank them and trim the blades off so that it looks like a center cap. To me, the knockoffs are just a little too much. Too busy looking. I liked how the wheels looked without them better. So, I'm thinking of painting the center cap black also. I may like them once I see them on the model. But, by themselves, they're not doing it for me.
  24. You're thinking of the '69. The '68 rear bumper fits fine. This particular '57 kit has been hated on since it came out. Even by builders who thought they knew what was inside. Everyone (including myself ) thought it was the same kit with all of the extras. But, it came with none. It only comes with stock parts which is fine for those who build stock. But, sucks for those who don't.
