That is a nice racer and trailer combo. Bonus points for the correct year Chevelle.
-
That looks simply STUNNING!

There was one other bad feature. The forward oil sump made for some starved bearings in the mid 60's drag racers.
-
Well done. Lights are a nice feature.

'Grandpa Special' Challenger

I too think the body is not too bad. The hood is a cartoon but that is easy enough to source elsewhere. Go as detailed on not with the chassis. I liked how mine turned out years ago.- 18 replies

I always enjoyed his positivity. He has some fast but effective turnarounds on some rescued treasures. Gotta love some Snake-Fu!

Could you actually order an Air Grabber hood without the blackout treatment back in the day? Nice build BTW.

How do you prep your glue surfaces???
Bills72sj replied to Vinny G's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use a variety of adhesives dependent on the job at hand. I generally scrape and use Testors red thinned with Plastruct Bondene for extra "bite" I hate when pieces fall off of models. Though I have been migrating to clear two-part epoxy more and more. -

A little folklore on the GP/Can Am dash. Rumor has it they ceased production of the Can Am due to supply chain issues for the dash. The Grand Prix was selling really well and was more profitable. Thus the change.

I have these for a project that have a similar pattern. They came in this box. I have no idea where you could find them. I also found a style closer to what you are looking for online.

Wow! If it were not for the gloss on the side view mirrors, I would have been fooled into thinking it is a 1:1. -

Cool project. Following. The history lessons are interesting too. -
Following. I have slightly started a 75 T-top Vette for my best friend. I may use some of your tricks.

I like how you detailed the grille and the dash. I have used some of the Duplicolor rattle cans directly onto styrene but then again it was like 15-20 years ago. They have some beautiful metallic reds. Shop Craigslist for a display case I got a tall 4 shelf glass and oak cabinet for $90. I added 4 more shelves for around $53 including shipping. at max, it could hold 18 semis AND trailers.? -
Way cool build.

That engine bay looks 1:1! Great job!
