1996 Chevrolet C-3500 Dually

Wow! If it were not for the gloss on the side view mirrors, I would have been fooled into thinking it is a 1:1. -

Cool project. Following. The history lessons are interesting too. -
Following. I have slightly started a 75 T-top Vette for my best friend. I may use some of your tricks.

I like how you detailed the grille and the dash. I have used some of the Duplicolor rattle cans directly onto styrene but then again it was like 15-20 years ago. They have some beautiful metallic reds. Shop Craigslist for a display case I got a tall 4 shelf glass and oak cabinet for $90. I added 4 more shelves for around $53 including shipping. at max, it could hold 18 semis AND trailers.? -
Way cool build.

Questions About Flocking and Embossing Powder

I use that philosophy on my more recent builds. It is time consuming, but I like the problem solving during the process and the satisfaction afterwards, -
Love it! What paint did you use?

What Do You Think?
Bills72sj replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The intake port layout is similar to a small block Chevy. The differences that I know of are Pontiac distributors are in back and insert directly into the block. Chevys are in the back but insert through the intake. Removal of the Chevy distributor hole would be easy. The thermostat housings are in similar locations in the front. Pontiacs have a cast in connection to the timing chain cover but this is very minimal in scale. You may need to fabricate an oil fill tube depending on what was used in '64. This brings us back to... are there any 2BBL SBC intake manifolds out there? Alternately, you could just whittle the front an rear of a 4BBL cab pad down to 2BBL size. -

Thanks for sharing. This is one of my Holy Grail kits. I could bite the bullet and buy one but I already have more kits than I could build in my lifetime. -
Nice result on the Candy Apple Red paint. Was it a Revell or AMT kit?

Very nice Pontiac in a very Pontiac color.

Molotow Liquid Chrome feed problem
Bills72sj replied to Oliver77's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I have used both GSW air brush and paint brush chrome. While not perfectly shiny, it meets my needs until something better comes along after I run out. -
I like the black with the blue interior. I did a recent Pontiac build in that color combo. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/187447-the-bad-girl-onyx-a-1965-pontiac-with-a-376hp-421-tri-power-and-a-4-speed-in-testors-metallic-black/

Fixing a Boo-Boo!

Nice save. My wife's cat knocked off my 69 Mach One from a high shelf including a bounce off of a hard surface desk. It went into about 20 pieces. It took over a year to get around to putting it back together. It really was never show worthy anyway. -
I would love to see a 77 GP too. A shipmate when I was in the Navy had one and painted it metallic black with a bright gold laundau top and gold wheels. It actually looked pretty sharp. Unfortunately, it was stolen off of the Navy base in San Diego less than a month after he had it painted. Probably ran straight to Tijuana never to be seen again. I do have a really rough 1:25 resin copy of a 77 Can Am that I will likely not touch until I retire.

Way cool build. Rally Sport and Red, White and Blue. Love it!

Enjoy the kit bash! I have taken kit bashing to nearly everything I build.
