  1. Huge THANKS!!! to Jangus, Khils... and to a lesser extent Amazon, today's harvest has been rather bountiful I'd reckon... And this desktop sized dehydrator... who says Christmas can't come early!! ?
  2. I'll add Jangus... a man of his word!! No finer could be found guaranteed! Thanks so much John! I hope you enjoy the paint!!
  3. List of recent folks I've had dealings with. Khils, the guy is unbelievably generous, welcome to any parts in my stash Mike C., Basically sent me an entire kit for a part, that was way cool. Slotto, great communication everything as described. I would trade anytime. Paul Payne, is rock solid to trade with. Jiml0001... no trade, just charity... the guy is far too generous and welcome to any parts in my stash! Duane Garner, delivered on a kit I've been after for many years! Can't thank him enough!
  4. Thanks for the info!
  5. They do remind me of a Fujimi tire... but I can't think of what they would be from.
  6. Judging by the looks of it, im gonna like the Harbor Freight price better...?... as usual ?
  7. I would love a 78 Malibu with the frame separate from the floor pan.
  8. Bill, my thoughts exactly. There's always something to be said for style. But it was a beautiful monster... just think of the 240mph 0-60 in 2.5s and still holds records today. Absolute Legend.
  9. Looks fantastic! I would kill for a pair of those M/T's... I've got ONE!! And the letters are messed up/half melted. Seems like I remember them in a GTO kit years ago when I was a kid.
  10. I have certainly learned from him... and I don't think he's a bad guy, just a shameless self promoter and a bit cocky... I love how he speaks like his methods are the ONLY things that work. Comes off as kind of a model car doomsday preacher. he does produce some really nice models. Not always my style, but seriously nice! For detail he does seem to let aftermarket parts/products do alot of the heavy lifting outside of his paint jobs though, wich I'm not a huge fan of. It seems kinda like "pay to win" sometimes. Admittedly I do use the same method for painting bodies, but I started doing that before I discovered him. Overall he is very, very knowledgeable and is skilled modeler and seems to really love and care about the hobby in his own way. A blast to listen to... he had one video where he recommended people use Tamiya cotton applicators to clean an airbrush ? then to buy $15 natural bristle paint brushes for enamel paint.... I paint wargaming miniatures for money, and I'll tell you from experience... don't waste money on a nice Windsor and Newton series 7 or equivalent to use with oils or enamels... synthetic is just as good even for tiny detail and it lasts longer, has less maintenance and is monumentally cheaper. The nice brushes are great for Acrylics... blending etc... but not solvents.
  11. Thats That's kind of awsome not gonna lie! ?
  12. Yea, definitely some neat ideas there, and innovative for the time... The "Aeromotive" idea alone is priceless!
  13. I like alot of different channels... Some I watch and some I only listen to. The Watchers 1. JUN'S Mini Garage (very relaxing) 2. JHart Modelworks (awsome builds) 3. Geo Tziafas (not many vids, but incredible work) 4. Plasmo ( guy makes a super clean model) 5. Spencer1984 (we share alot of interests) 6. GrandpaMarks Hobbies (guy seems nice and shows some effective stuff) 7. hpiguys workshop ( for when you want to see what's in the box and what it looks like ) The Listeners 1. Donn Yost ( his arrogance cracks me up) 2. Fred Henry ( I'm not exactly sure why I listen) 3. Showtime Studios ( before the Hunter disappeared, his arrogance always made me laugh, much like Donn) 4. Hpiguys workshop (because his channel and style is so good it works when you can't watch)
  14. Man, that is some heavy artillery for a small styrene car body... I mean I guess if you make sure to use the right material and keep the pressure/ distance/ and movement right it could work without texturing or blowing a hole through the body. Seems not worth the effort/risk for me... but I'm interested to here your findings!
  15. Do you just post in the "Hobby Lobby" thread to remind everyone that you don't like Hobby Lobby? I'm confused ?
  16. I'd really like a 1/24 Vector W8! Super cheesy wich translates directly to awsome. Reminds me of a shark... except red.
  17. I'm thinking on white with white wheels/ red interior for the classic Miami look.
  18. Cool, I've got this kit in the stash I'll be watching!
  19. Started this a few days ago... got the kit in a trade a few years ago. Figured I'd try and do it basically box stock... it will be a warm up for another Countach coming up soon. I started by sawing the lower body panels off the chassis pan and attached them to the body, it made no sense why they were made this way. My chassis pan was warped, so had to heat it and straighten it out. Its basically flat now. I scabbed a piece of styrene in the backside so I could keep the panel gap intact. I've been working on the engine and interior today, I've got most of it in base color... I grabbed Steel Alcad instead of aluminum and didn't realize before I started spraying the engine... but I kinda like the darker appearance, so left it. I've been adjusting the height of the interior tub because the top bulkhead where the rear glass goes stops the tub from sitting flush to the roof. I'll post more as I go along.
  20. Well I'm glad YOU made the determination to dismiss the skill level... And as I stated in my previous post. Yes, both list the parts count on the side of the box in fine print... there'd nothing on the front of the box, ya know the part that everyone sees on the shelf, that makes a distinction between the type of kit. If it had a little blurb in the corner that said Snap tite or Snapper or EZ build or literally anything that would get that point across it would be totally fine! But they didn't do that... and thats where I'll leave it. If you don't understand by now, we just have to agree to disagree.
  21. Let me give you some visuals. This camaro is in the same style box as this NEW TOOLED Porsche 911... BOTH sporting the SKILL LEVEL 4! The Z28 has less than 40 parts I think its 37 to be exact... The porsche has 109! but there were no mistakes made, and despite these boxes giving the most flattering optics, there is no discrepancy here when it comes to what's actually in the box. So, are you supposed to open the Z28 and be happy, and then be completely mind blown and overjoyed to open the porsche kit? Sure we could get into the fine print and find a bit more truth, but who actually does that? Or are you gonna open the Z28, feel like you have been ripped off, and then open the porsche kit to find what you already expected and feel normal? Something doesn't jive ?‍? Defending this practice is just plain bad.
  22. Yes, us as experienced modelers make do all the time... thats what the hobby is. And if I wanted that camaro I certainly would buy it and make it better... but you are still missing the point. "I don't think there is a problem with the box, the whole point of sales is to make the product look more appealing than it may or may not be" So, I could put a turd in a box and as long as I showed a person holding it like a candy bar on the boxart that's ok because it looks better than what it is? Because a fast food burger looks fantastic in a commercial then looks like it got ran over by a steamroller when you get it, that's ok? Seems I've got some stuff I need to sell you...? Legal and "right" aren't mutually exclusive.
  23. I will say the Camaro kit does have a fairly nice dash...
  24. My concern isn't necessarily for the children or the complete noob looking for a way to spend a rainy day. I'm talking about the person who is into serious modeling, but isn't necessarily up to snuff on kit history. The two aren't mutually exclusive. I WAS THAT PERSON... not too many years ago. And it took me a long time to find this forum and slowly churn through the information here. Sure, I do more thorough research now. But I still get duped once in a while, difference being, now I should know better and blame myself. Before I knew what I know now, it would have been nice to not come across this camaro kit considering I have one in my driveway, I may have been inclined to buy it. And then be met with disappointment because of a lack of communication about what's in the box. It just a mistake on Revells part... having to resort to forums on the internet to learn what a product is, is a TOTAL failure on the part of Revells marketing team period. There's no defending that box... the model itself is not the infraction, it's the BOX.
