I don't want to put you more pressure about opening the doors because your car is fantastic anyway and don't necessarily need this feature. However, if you decided to proceed with the cuts, I just want to tell you that I had this problem (with the «A» pillars) on my '64 D100. As you know my donor kit was an original 62 FORD body so the plastic was very brittle and the windshield frame had to by modified to match the shape of the Dodge truck. They are very thin already so they broke on both sides not counting that I dropped the body on the floor a couple of times on the early stage of the build. I glued them back several time with Bondene liquid glue or Cyanoacrylate but they were simply too thin to endure any manipulation. To fix the problem I folded a thin piece of aluminum in a «L» shape and glued it on the inside of the «A» pillar where the door window frame meet the pillar. In the unpleasant but possible event that a break happen on you car, you could try this trick with thin brass instead of aluminum depending on what you have on hands. I attached a picture that show partially the fix, but I don't want in any way to hijack your thread Daniel!

Sensational scratch building project Scott, everything you've done so far is top notch! This is what motivates me and my main interest in this hobby, so I particularly enjoy what you are doing on this build! For what I understand, you mentioned at the beginning of the thread that you make it as a request from your friend Louie so will you really give it away at the end or i'ts a personal tribute to his 1:1 truck? I am just curious to know!

Nice paint job Tom! You achieved some very good results with the polishing and the Galaxie will be perfect in red. Great job on the engine too, the carburators are very convincing!

That's a beautiful and great display of power Pat! Very good and ingenious idea for displaying some of your superb engines! To be confused with a real life set-up with the background and the pavement. Well crafted as usual sir!!! -

Glad you like the trick and the fact that you could have to a try it on your builds Tim! I must work with what I have as tooling so sometime I have no choice and be imaginative to reach my goal... The sad part is the fact that these splines will be hidden (as for many details) on the final build... Fortunately the pics will still be in the thread to prove they are there and how they were done! Take care, Francis -
You say I'm still interested Tim! Your carburetor setup is taking shape nicely and your attention to details is out of the ordinary sir. I will have to take a try at this Renshape material one day or another... seem very useful! By the way, glad to see that the bantam is now the trademark in your new profile picture, this amazing build deserve it's new function!

Great job on this new project Steve! I do love the color you have chosen, definitively a Pontiac color and it's great looking on this big body car! Very good job on the tail lights, these Molotow pencils are very useful for this kind of detailing!

I also used the technique on an older build and it worked perfectly. I bought mine on eBay and they were sold for radio controlled cars. Thanks for sharing Tom! -

You made a fantastic job with the brass hood and the hinge Alex! I do appreciate your honest and impartial comments about the resin overall quality of that Air-Trax kit and pics tell all! I tried a couple of times working with resin kits but it end-up all the time that I spent more time inside the body shell trying to thin walls than working anywhere else on the body so I finally give-up! It's sad because most of the resin subjects are the rarest and most interesting ones! Courage, you made some great progress so far sir! -

Very good and convincing weathering job Ryan! It would be hard to make it even closer to the ground! Well done sir!!! -
Nice job Kevin! The GTOs were very beautiful and fast cars from the first production year until the end of the muscle cars era and the '68/'69 were the nicest years in my opinion but but like many of us might say tastes are not to be discussed! Well done sir!!!

Good looking Roadrunner Wayne! That color fits like a glove with this beautiful Mopar B-body! Well done sir!!!

Thanks Ludwig! I remembered that it was an AMT kit after asking the question ... thanks anyway for taking the time to clarify! Beside the doors feature, the Revell kit seem superior to its AMT counterpart in the details!?

New Dodge build
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Repstock's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thank you for clarifying that this is not a resin kit. I did basically the same thing with my '64 D100 Dodge pickup and it comforts me to know that I'm not the only one who's obsessed enough to recreate a nonexistent truck cab with styrene. That L700 Dodge cabin looks spot-on, I love it and thanks for sharing!!! -

Thanks for the kind words Mike! I may not always work in a conventional way to make my pieces but the goal is to achieve its ends and find satisfaction! In all modesty, I am very proud if my work can inspire a model maker of your caliber. Take care, Francis -

Very cool project Tom! I do love these old Dodge and this resin kit looks very well detailed. The engine is very well done and I can't wait to see your next update! -
Good job so far Lee! Are the dash instrument gauges details done with waterslide decals supplied with the kit or aftermarket ones? They seem very beautiful even if the photo is taken from afar!
